Our Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness was on I-70 and as I negotiated a construction area at 55 mph and I-sight sensed obstacle ahead abruptly came to a heavy braking situation. I was using the smart cruise and steering assist. Jeannie took the drivers seat from me. Wouldn’t listen to the excuse of the Subaru automation screwing my exceptional driving up. 😳

Love the smart cruise not so fond of steering assist at this point on mine. Maybe it takes more getting used to. I go manual and let it warn me if I'm driving all over the place. :)

Was there an obstacle ahead of you or not when it applied?

Yes a hard turn in construction adjusted lane  but speed and closure were as marked. Subaru Eye sight does not do well with poor markings. I’d attribute it to that.

Adaptive cruise on it’s own is great. I use it every day. But anything closer to full self driving, I’ll pass. Every system available currently has some flaws and I’m just not lazy enough to put up with them.

I've had the Verano panic stop over a shadow crossing the road. GM said, "Could not duplicate"

Mitsubishi has done the brake dive once or twice when someone passes and comes back in too close (showing me they are annoyed). :rollin: What? My other speed is much slower. Let me show you.....
