Plugs for those ugly round tubes

Its a great mod. Super cheap on amazon too. I power washed and let dry the inside just in case there was anything holding moisture inside but its a super simple 30 second mod.

I bought mine off Amazon also.  Just remember that they come 4 in a pack, not 2!   :sigh:

I bought an 'extra' set and the return shipping cost nearly what they were worth.

I had these but the issue I had was they hold water inside the cross member tube eventually the inside of the tube and edged around the cap were solid rust.

I wouldn't go so far as to say these open tube ends were ugly but I appreciate these caps.  The first thing I now notice in OP's picture is the eight or so smaller holes between these new caps!

Might want to throw a bag or two of desiccant in each tube after drying. Should be fine otherwise. Do these tubes go all the way across making the 'ladder'?

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but it's the only one I found on these hole plugs. My question: other than aesthetics, what is the purpose of these plugs?

That's what I thought, but wanted to confirm it. I can't see any other reason for them.

Thanks!

Anyone else have issues with moisture build up in the tube? I thought there were other smaller holes throughout the tube that would prevent this.

Thanks in advance!

.. if you look back along the tube you will indeed see holes.. these are not sealed tubes.. I have plugs on mine to keep all the road salt and crap out of them living up here in the North
