2000 c3500 hd brake caliper position.

So, my mechanic wont pass my inspection because he doesnt like how the brake pad is sitting.  He thinks the knuckles got put back on the truck on the wrong side at some point. He is not certain though. He thinks the brake caliper retaining spring and screw should be on the bottom of the caliper. They are on the top of mine. Anyone have the same truck because none of my manuals I have show where those two parts sit at. Even the exploded diagram doesnt show them.

GM shows the hardware going on the bottom.
