I have the same problem. Less than 1000 miles on my 2020 Custom though. Crashes periodically when I am using apple play.

Yup, Ive got the same thing.  Dealer looked at it last Wednesday and didnt find any error codes and all firmware was up to date.  Then they proceeded to scratch my drivers door to the paint and not tell me about it.  Luckily I caught it before leaving....

It has only happened to mine while using Car Play.  I also had some were stuff happen when using car play and towing a trailer.  I dont think your dealer is that out of line suspecting it has to do with your phone.  Try using just BT for a while and see if you can repeat it?

Rear camera failure

Camera processing unit failure

Infotainment system blank with sound no video

Infotainment system with video but no sound

Customer service just quit calling me back, new in July, been at dealership for days/weeks at a time every month since September, eventually told me China was working on new software to fix it, that's the last I heard from anyone. I hired a lawyer, not sure it will do anything or make a difference but after exploring all options except trading it in at a huge loss to me (why should GM make money off their issues/faults).

I don't think its an Apple or CarPlay issue as I have the same results whether my phone is connected via cable, blue tooth or not at all using terrestrial radio. Dealership and GM blamed my phone for months, said it was fixed and I would come to pick it up only to start truck and screen locked, blank/black display, etc.. while my phone wasn't paired and in my pocket.

Is anyone having issues with the 2019 Sierra radio stating “tuner unavailable”? We just got the truck back from the dealer for a different warranty issue. A new steering column replaced and rack and pinions replaced. Now radio doesn’t work. Thanks!!!

My 2019 Silverado radio intermittently will not respond to when trying to change stations even if I turn it off and on it still will not respond. Other times my radio will have a blank display with no sound. Once again turning the radio off does not help and turning the truck off and back on does not help either. After leaving the truck off for a couple of hours the radio works. Can anyone help me with this problem.

Same blank screen and unresponsive physical buttons on my 2019.  Dealer was "unable to duplicate" and "no faults found" despite me driving straight into the service bay and showing the guy at the service desk before I turned off the truck.  Suggested the issue was my fault due to turning on the truck with my phone already plugged in.

One time it was almost like the radio module rebooted while driving down the highway.  I was listening to Spotify via Bluetooth (not plugged in with Android Auto) and suddenly the screen went dark and the music stopped.  Tried mashing a few buttons but nothing.  A minute or so later I saw the Chevy logo on the screen and it started working fine again.

Edit: Make it twice now for the radio reboot.

My 2019 Canyon has a similar problem. Typically once a day, usually after first start and bootup the infotainment system reboots while driving. When the boot starts, the FM radio plays and when it completes the usb music and FM music are both playing, the outside temperature reads "--", and a no gps icon (red circle & slash) is displayed, although the navigation system seems to work fine. After shutting the vehicle down for 20 minutes or do and restarting, the system boots without problems. A separate but related problem occurs when initial bootup fails to read the sd card with a 'ad card removed' message and a disabled navigation system. Restarting after 20 min clears this error. Dealer replaced sd card reader, but problem persists. Dealer could not replicate the system reboot problem therefore claimed could not troubleshoot or correct. I will continue to persue with dealer. Anyone know of a CTL-ALT-DEL type shortcut to reboot? I read on Consumer Reports that calling On- Star and then hanging up will cause a reboot, but have not tried it.

Dont laugh, but they really need to add a reboot feature.

All Tesla's allow you to reboot the computers.  Simplest thing to do sometimes to solve an issue.

Have you figured out this problem? I have a 2020 custom. Picked it up 2 weeks ago and through CarPlay only, at random times the radio will reboot. Truck has been with the dealer past 2 days and they can’t figure out the problem

Damn. I just got my truck back today. They have to order a new radio to see if that fixes it but it really is a small problem that is bothering me cause t just cuts out at random times and restarts the radio

Anyone having issues with infotainment won’t come on after remote start or in acc mode?  Mine is working fine if I start the truck but it won’t come on at all if remote started until I turn off the truck and start as normal????   2020 2500 High Country

I've had my 2021 Silverado about 2 weeks bought it new and so far have only traveled 45 min each way to and from work and had no issues however this Valentine's weekend my wife and i took a trip aprox 2&1/2 hours away and aprox 2 hours into it i heard a faint very high pitched frequency thru the speakers for about 2 seconds then radio screen went blank no response from any controls on radio or steering wheel although the XM music continued to play i couldn't change it or the volume even the ac started going to heat while it was on auto but would cool if i turned off auto, i was using Android auto with a newer usb C cord and had been working great till this happened, i pulled over at my first opportunity and turned off the truck and opened a door to try and power down the vehicle and to use an alternative for the navigation that's been rendered inoperable but the the radio continued to play even after walking away and the vehicle auto locking,. I committed my trip arrived at the hotel and walked away to not let this ruin our get away my wife was worried i would have a dead truck in the morning i assured her we'd be fine i have a portable jump box but in the morning it was back to normal.  As a former Chevy tech (left last year to work for Govt) I've seen this type of issue before and was usually the HMI module but easily could be something else i did however record video of it not working with a blank screen in case they needed proof lol

    • Sir, economics doesn't have a moral compass. 😉 Just say'n.
    • One would think. BUT....This is what a Google search gives for the GM OLM system:    It doesn't measure oil condition save the highly indirect water temperature. It should measure oil temperature and as we've discussed they are not as closely related as one might assume. The algorithm is based on expected conditions at the end of a certain number of miles or revolutions. And sirs, this estimated value is not tilted in the engines favor. It favors the OEM's bottom line. There are no magical number of miles nor revolutions. No magical time limit. There is only what can be measured directly and only in the broadest of terms would the values used even come close to reality.    It samples nothing. It has no idea where the oil started or where it will finish given the limited values use to create the algorithm. It is just a reminder for the brain dead to do something at some time to keep the warranty in tact. Pure fiction.    Key Factors in Oil Life Calculation The OLM calculates the remaining oil life percentage based on the following factors: Factor Description Engine Revolutions Tracks the number of engine revolutions since the last reset, decreasing oil life with use. Mileage Since Last Reset Monitors the distance driven since the last oil change, capped at 7,500 miles for most models. Time Since Reset Decreases oil life over time, dropping to 0% after one year, regardless of mileage. Engine Temperature Adjusts oil life based on coolant temperature; exceeding 260°F sets oil life to 0%.
    • Towing power and I guess MPG matter that’s why I may end up going with a gear swap as soon as they’re available for this truck if I’m correct
    • If I may, I'd like to post my prediction of the trim levels for the 2027 GMC Sierra, based on what was released/introduced today about the Chevy Silverado.   Using the "Professional Grade" wording already in use by GMC, here are the eight (8) trims I believe the Sierra will offer (comparable Chevy trim in parenthesis): Sierra Pro (Work Truck/WT) Elevation (Custom) Elevation Premium -or- Ultimate (Silverado) AT4 (Custom Trail Boss) AT4 Premium -or- Ultimate (Trail Boss) AT4X (ZR2) Denali (High Country) Denali Ultimate (N/A) If GMC would rather simplify the trim levels, then I predict six (6) with package upgrades in parenthesis: Sierra Pro (with a Graphite package upgrade option) Elevation (with a Premium -or- Ultimate package upgrade) AT4 (with a Premium -or- Ultimate package upgrade) AT4X (with AEV and Ultimate packages upgrade) Denali Denali Ultimate  Let's see if I'm close.
    • I have to believe there are already a bunch of threads on this, but my searches didn't turn up much. While I like the ease of a plugin solution like the Carbyte, It appears it disables the AFM or DFM too, and is not configurable to only disable the auto stop/start. So, I'm looking at the Autostop Eliminator product. I like the idea of it better, but I'm concerned about the install and having to pull so many panels to get it installed. Mines a 2026 work truck, so from what I've read it's a less involved install, but having watched a couple install vid's, I'm still a little intimidated. Might need to buy some plastic trim tools to get it done without breaking or marring stuff. Any experience intalling in a WT greatly appreciated.
