I have a question on the rear trailer view.   I have a 5th wheel and I pull a boat behind it, I was wondering I could use this camera to help hitch up the boat to the back of the 5th wheel along with using the camera to see what is going on behind the camper while drive down the road with out adjusting the camera angle.

Thanks

Yes, you can view the rear trailer/invisible camera at any time. I've used it quite a bit going down the highway to check on the bikes. Also useful when backing into a site or maneuvering in a parking lot or gas station.

With the 360 deg camera system, there 4 camera views that are available going down the road: outside mirror camera view, outside mirror with rear trailer cam, rear trailer camera, and transparent (if available).  The rest of the views will time out after 8 secs.

I was finally going to pull the trigger on this accessory camera, and it looks like its been discontinued:

"Trailer Auxiliary Camera (Models W/Trailer) Currently On Restriction From GM No Release Date - GM (84876818)"

anybody got the scoop on what's going on?

Thanks for all the replies.   Maybe I should clarify my question.  I do not have the invisible trailer option on my truck, it is a LT but I do have 2 camera ports on the bumper of my truck that give me the ability to plug in a camera behind the 5th wheel and one inside the 5th wheel.  If I get one camera and mount it towards to top of the 5th wheel on the back middle,  would I be able to adjust the camera in a position so I can see a ball hitch connected to the 5th wheel along with being able to see a boat that I am pulling behind the 5th wheel in the same field of view from the same camera.  I pull tandem with my 5th wheel so I pull a boat behind the 5th wheel.  I would like to be able to use one camera for 2 things.

1 - The camera would help be back up the 5th wheel making it much easier to align the  2 inch ball hitch on the back of the 5th wheel with the boat  hitch.  This would make backing the 5th wheel up to the boat much easier.

2- I would like to use the same camera as a set of eyes while driving down the road.  I would like to see if everything related to the boat was doing ok behind the 5th wheel.  For example is the boat tarp wiping around or loose, Is the boat still back there,  are the tires still good on the boat.

Thanks

AK

That is the old part number I believe.  Check out the link earlier in this post for a link to the camera.

THANKS! - I'll check it out.  I thought it was strange when I couldn't locate the cameras on the Chevy Accessories website.

You have the base system.  You only would have the rear trailer camera view that would be available at all driving speeds.

Exactly,   I am wondering if that one rear camera camera has a big enough field of view that I would be able to see the hitch on the back of the 5th wheel and the boat in the same field of view.

I have mine mounted on the roof and this is my field of view. I'm sure if it were on the back you could adjust it to what you are looking for.

Is it possible to view the camera on the back of the trailer via the rear view mirror?  IE have my maps up on the center display and trailer camera in the rear view mirror?

No.

Sad, that'd mean getting rid of my camera screen would mean I would need to add a phone or GPS screen.  Putting the trailer camera as the rear view mirror would mean the upgrade to the 2020 would mean my external TPMS and external trailer camera screens would go away and kill the clutter in the cab.

The center display screen can easily toggle from trailer cam, navigation maps, or Android Auto/Apple Car Play. If you have factory nav, you can display that in the DIC to show your upcoming turns, ETA, etc.
