Fender Flares or no Fender Flares

Guys I need help.  I would have never put these on a truck myself, but I've some what gotten used to them since I've bought this vehicle.  Should I take them off or no?

 

The pics with the rollbar are not current.  That was removed.

I agree, think he is kind of stuck with them at this point.

 

Plus they kind of blend with the aftermarket front bumper.

You asked for opinions so...

Thank your for having flares to cover the tires sticking out past your fenders. I really don't understand the barrel wheels sticking way out with no coverage. Not my style at all.

 

I just wish the flares didn't have those fake "bolt" pockets in them. There is nothing that screams rugged like a fake plastic chrome bolt. Make the surface smooth and clean. Since most of them stick on with double back tape, why the poor attempt at look alike bolts ?

 

Just 2 cents from an old guy who thinks the flares are practical in that application but just doesn't like the style of them. But then I also don't believe in "level Kits". My 18 foot leveler drops on the trailer ball.

I’m not normally a fender flare fan but I’d also say with the wheels and tires you’re running I’d keep them on. They work.

Different wheels and no flares is what I'd do.

 

The wheels just scream cheap with the huge plastic center cap and black always looks small. Black wheels and brodozer are all the rage I guess.

I think you'll regret removing them with tires that sit that wide. If they haven't already rubbed through your paint where they contact the fender you will certainly bombard the side of your truck with debris once they are gone.

One thing to consider and/or check, would be how the paint looks underneath the flare.  The paint may have faded a bit, so you can see that the flare has been removed, and there may be a poor paint job underneath them if they are factory or it came with factory flares that the P.O. switched out.

 

I bought a replacement front fender, with flare installed, from a truck being parted out, and under the flare there were runs in the paint and clearcoat.  it would have looked terrible without a flare covering it.

I couldn’t agree with you more I shake my head every time I see a truck coming down the block with the tires hanging out into another zip code. Like why would anyone think yea that looks good lol. It’s like a new trend I see tires hanging out and the back end on the ground front pointed towards the sky.

Due to the current amount of lift, and the wheel position, keep them for the function if that's the only change you're considering.

 

If you're looking to do more than remove the flares, get the wheels back inside the fenders, pull the flares, clean up where they were, and consider something other than a solid black wheel. It'll look like an entirely different truck with just those changes and the roll bar gone.
