It's cheaper than the aluminum one.

Priced at $1299. 

 

I like that they can be locked part way open if needed, and that the tailgate can be closed without lifting the top first. 

Especially on a tall truck, it is easier to 'walk' the cover open from the ground than it was to flip open the sections of the flip open style I used before.

 

When carrying something that requires the cover to be open, it does not block the view through the rear window.

Downside is that the rolled up cover takes some space inside the bed and prevents tall items from being pushed against front wall of bed.

GM is off to a slow start at the moment.  They only list the soft roll up cover. 844228331.

slow start is right, They reposition the pucks for the fifth wheel prep and have no supporting hitch or ISR adapter.......ridiculous

As stated above, only hitches that connect to goose ball or goose ball socket.

essentially not using the puck system at all

I have had the Retrax Pro on my previous 2 trucks but honestly can’t remember why I chose that over the Retrax One.  I know the Pro is aluminum and the One is polycarbonate but what benefits am I getting paying extra for the aluminum? There website doesn’t list many advantages that I can find.

500 lbs. vs. 250 lbs. of carry weight and better construction from what I can tell.  I went with the pro and am pretty pleased with it but can't say i would have been disappointed with the cheaper model.

Carry weight was the difference I remember from when I got mine. 

 I don't walk on it or carry stuff on it.

 

I was a little concerned about what the aluminum version would look light if it got scratched.

For my use, didn't think paying 50% more made sense.

 

I do like the appearance of the wider slats on the aluminium version.

B&W RVK3710... companion fifth wheel hitch.  I've got one ordered... fits factory puck system.
