Found a dead mouse when I changed the cabin filter in my last 14 Sierra. Must have got in through the cowl somehow.

Those saying GM has no responsibility have kind of been shut down by GM...I looked at a 2018 model and I see GM has fixed the problem of the gaps at the end of the cowls.  Apparently they do feel it is their responsibility to some degree to make them mouse proof.

.

Auto and home manufacturers make reasonable efforts to build in such a manner as prevent intrusion from rodents and or water.  They're constantly finding ways to improve in efficiency, safety and function.    I don't see where anyone has been shut down with respect to your concerns and I wouldn't be surprised if we hear from an owner of an '18 or '19 who had to deal with a unwanted rodent intruder.  Best to continue to make efforts to avoid such encounters.

yep...all owners want is a reasonable effort of engineering to keep mice out.  That being said, we all know they will still get under the hood and possibly create problems there.  But I'd rather not have them building nests in top of the cabin filter, pissing and defecating on it, then those smells and possibly diseases and viruses being fanned into the cab of the vehicle.

That being said, some people are ok with mice living in their house also.  Gross.  I don't believe any ever got into my home as a result of the home builder's actions.Might have had a mouse one time years ago, and probably got in when a door was open.  It had a short life...

Found a huge mouse nest after noticing a strong odor coming out vents,  laying on top of cabin air filter. 2014 Sierra. I'm trying peppermint oil dripped on cotton balls and also moth ball bags placed in my garage.  Will see if this helps. Mice suck!

Had them getting in my GMT900, never did figure out how though. Lots of poison outside around the house and driveway seemed to do the trick.

Nothing like having a mouse run across your foot while driving down the highway will cause quite interesting diving maneuvers.

Since I have put in the folded up window screens in the gaps at the ends of the plastic cowl, I have not had a mouse get into the hvac and cabin filter system.  So much for the naysayers saying they'll just chew thru it and to just live with nature...

I can honestly say that I have never had a mouse in my vehicles, but I have had a squirrel chew up the O2 harness(es) on our '10 Mustang, spent $80 to have the harness rebuilt, versus $250 for a new harness.  Other than that, we've had ants and roaches, in Okinawa, but we threw ant/roach baits in the trunks and under the front seats, problems solved.

Got them in the wife's Honda once. Mouse trap and peanut butter had him dead in under 5 minutes. He was making a nest in the glove box. Started letting the cat in the garage at night. She's a great mouser.

Mothballs and dryer sheets are supposed to help but mice get in the tiniest holes.  As mentioned you can’t completely seal up a truck or house.

That's why we all should rescue a cat from a shelter (or save one or two or three from the streets) ... my four cats often sleep under my truck and BMW at night, (or during the day depending on what I leave at home instead of driving) never an issue here.
Also, neighbor had a rat issue under his house a few years ago, I wound up burying four rats before the pest control company even showed up. :)

Till the cat climbs on your paint does a dance and leaves claw marks.  We have indoor cats but not trusting them to not climb on or into myself 🤣

I’m surrounded by woods. I always have at least 3 stray cats around at all times. Never had a mouse problem in 22 years. Two vehicles stay outside. Two inside. The cats sometimes go in the garage. In the spring I have a fox, rabbits, deer. Haven’t seen the armadillo for awhile, so no holes. The dogs don’t room free. The have the deck and a fenced area. I put mothballs out around their area in the spring to keep out the snakes. But no mice.

Nah, claw marks just scratch the surface - easy buff out.
Ask me how I know. :)

    • I found an odor eliminator spray that neutralizes unwanted smells pretty well. Using it with the car's AC running helps to distribute it evenly around the cabin.
    • WTI futures / speculation is just that. WTI futures <> current 4-7% inflation and national average gas price over $4.00/gallon.   The spot price, at delivery, is currently $87-$95/barrel which is why gas prices remain high.   Edit: oH mY gOd mEnTaL BrEaKdoWn In tHE pOsT aBOve mInE. • He does, actually. In another unrelated video he mentions the president called him in the middle of the night to relay some information on a cause (religious based) that he's invested in. Glenn expressed concern that another leftist administration could wield too much power with some procedure the Pentagon was using, classifying certain religions a certain way. Being that he is LDS (Latter Day Saints), he gets hate all the time from ALL over the political spectrum, so he's invested in this. Trump called him back at 5AM to tell him he had made some changes to that classification.   So, yes, they are and have been in contact regularly since the start of the administration. Glenn, of course, always asks his permission before discussing anything on the air.   I already spent an hour or more just searching for these videos. I may have my numbers wrong - I'm not a numbers guy. It may have been a MILLION barrels, not 1.5. The point is, our President, by his actions, gives a crap about America, and US - this is completely OPPOSITE the actions of the prior administration who projected hatred for anyone who wasn't following the left's edicts in lock-step.   Remember, they called January 6th an "Insurrection", when there were ZERO weapons among the crowd, undercover FBI agents agitating the crowd, along with paid leftists acting as aggressors, egging the crowd on in an attempt to whip everyone into a frenzy. It's all been proven.  Pelosi refused Trumps request for more National Guard troops. This smells 100% like an inside job for those with critical thinking skills. Only a handful of guys in the crowd got wrapped up in that, thankfully, but EVERYONE was searched out based on cell phone data, and charges were brought against many. And 6 or so people were locked up and left in solitary confinement for YEARS with ZERO due process!! If you give the slightest crap about our Nation, REGARDLESS of your political leanings, this should frighten you to your core. This is what men suffered, bled, fought, and died against 250 years ago!   This has gone FAR BEYOND left vs. right. This is a  threat to America, and our way of life. This is PRECISELY why Trump, a BILLIONAIRE who could have chosen to take Melania and sit on some tropical island that he could afford to buy himself and RELAX, instead chose to run for office, get hate from literally every corner of the media, get ATTEMPTS on his LIFE constantly, and begin to repair some of the severe damage that's been done to this Great Nation.   I don't know why I bother wasting my precious time here. Everyone has their minds made up. They won't realize we all were correct until it's too late ... after they elect another tyrant that hates America to office (Obama), or another puppet whose administration is secretly running the show behind the scenes (Biden).
