duramax transmission running warm

I have a 2019 sierra 2500 diesel and it does not like stop and go traffic.  the transmission temperature will increase to 185 degrees, rpm's increase by about 400, and transmission shifts hard.  Anyone else experiencing the same?  what causes it?

If it's under warranty, bring it to the dealership and you may have to drive it with a tech because if you told them the transmission only gets to 185 degrees, that is completely normal. Possible there is a store code or something if the shifting gets rough.

Normal operating range is in the neighborhood of 180-215 degrees for trans temp.

185 isn't a problem, even though it's higher than the allison typically runs when doing daily driver duties that aren't stop-and-go.

You'll find in the the duramax supplement the transmission level check procedure for the allison puts that temp in the normal working range.

 Step  5.

Perform a hot check at the first opportunity after the normal
operating temperature of 71 °C (160 °F) to 93 °C (200 °F) is reached.

Is it during regen? That’s what happens when in regen. Idles high and you get odd things going on with tranny when stopping
