Looking for brands of truck tires for my 2017 Silverado-  I want to put on 33x12.5x20 but there’s so many brands.

Looking for the aggressive design and good in snow.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Falken Wildpeak AT3W, snow rated all terrain tire with mileage warranty.  50k+ on the set I have now and still excellent traction on road, in the rain, and off road.

https://www.1010tires.com/Tires/33x12-50R20 I run that size, you know what I do with that truck in the winter? Park it. You wont move anywhere in 2wd with a 12.5" section width. It displaces too much of the trucks weight. If there was 3" of snow on the ground, I would be unable to accelerate passed 30mph in 2wd. They are amazing on dry pavement though. I am running Pro Comp AT's and hate them, they throw huge rocks and have piss poor traction in any situation beside dry pavement. Honestly I would recommend a 285 or 295 max, my friends 305's are even a bit wide. Here is my truck wit 12.5's. You're going to have a bad time with that size in the winter. I get 15mpg in the fall with my 6.2L I would expect 12mpg mid winter, even worse than that if you have a 5.3L

Toyo rts, Goodyear duratracs, Nitto Ridge grapplers are a few that have an aggressive look and great traction. Unfortunately with the aggressive look a lot of times you'll lose a little snow/ ice traction. The duratracs are great in the snow for the first 20k or so, but after that they're horrible, at least in my experience. Might want to consider a plain old all terrain if all around traction is your main goal.

buy a cheapy set of wheels to put winter tires on. i take my 35's off in the winter and put my 275's or whatever they are back on. Wide tires are not gonna be your best bet in snow

Firestone just came out with the Destination X/T that come in 35.0x12.50R20LT and they are 3 peak mountain snowflake rated.

I can finally comment on the ridge grapplers snow capabilities and they are pretty great. Not sure about their abilities on ice, but mine handled very well in the deep snow and slush. They're also 305mm wide so that's not helping the situation.

Without metal spikes/studs, I don’t think anything is good on ice

That is true and unfortunately in Michigan that's not allowed. So I'll have to be happy with what I've got. Overall they're a great tire. Look sweet, minimal noise and great traction.

Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S are excellent in snow. They have the coveted "three-peak mountain snowflake" symbol.

You can get them in 275/60R20, which are 33" dia. but just under 11" wide.

As already discussed, wide tires are the opposite of good driving in snow. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

I just dropped my truck off tonight to have the AT3 4S tires installed tomorrow - looks like a really solid all season tire.. I was down to that and the Firestone A/T2's... What put me over the edge to the Coopers was, their 65k mile warranty, made in Ohio, good reviews in wet and snow and the price was agreeable too, I paid $800 installed with no road hazard..

    • Brought my 2015 Colorado into the dealership to check my touch screen issues, had that ghost touch thing happening. They said I needed a new touch screen and they could either order me one for $500. The lady at the service deck was nice enough to tell me I could order a touch screen online for less, she did stipulate that the touch screen had to be factory OEM, you can't pair an aftermarket screen to my radio seeing it was 2015, it had to be a GM factory OEM only. I found a few on Amazon and Ebay by the numbers on the back of the old screen, DJ080PA-01A GM# 22740886, Some said "OEM" in the description and others just said "Replacement". Would a replacement be the same as a OEM as long as it had the same numbers on the back of the screen? In some of the descriptions they also show different brand names but same numbers, is that an issue?
    • I have both but typically use the 4 legged walker (wheels on front, ski's on back).   The four wheeler is starting to be used on "longer" outdoor walks.  The 4 legged walker is particularly helpful in practicing good walking posture.  Both of my knees are at different stages of recovery and I'm trying to not develop poor habits.  I can actually manage with a cane but it's very difficult not to favor one leg over the other.  My PT recommends I continue with my 4 legged walker for a while.  Yesterday was four weeks since my last knee replacement and I'm excited about my progress to date.  It has been a hell of a rough journey so far but it is exciting to witness  systematic and continuous improvement.  I went for years watching the decline of my "mobility".  It seems that everyday now I am alerting my wife to something I can do now that I couldn't a day or two ago!  I encourage anyone facing the prospect of knee replacement to share any concerns with others who have had the surgery.  It isn't an instant fix but rather is a considerable amount of short term pain for long term gain.  Recovery time and pain levels vary for individuals post surgery but the end results are typically very positive and I've never encountered anyone regretting having had the surgery.
    • The lifter issue can be dealt with by shorter oil changes and quality oil IMO.
    • Got heavy rain, hail and light rain yesterday.
    • I'm putting in an A-pillar pod/gauges, and I'm asking if anybody can identify a (preferably) fuse for a switched power and illumination circuit on the driver's side interior fuse panel. Offhand, everything I checked with a test light was constant-hot, and I'd much rather uses a piggyback fuse. I can certainly find a wire, but I'd rather not half-tap.   Thanks in advance for any help.
