I just bought a 2016 Silverado 1500 LT 4WD V8. Nice truck but why doesn't it come with the chrome Silverado nameplates on the doors and the tailgate?

It's probably been debadged. I've never seen one for sale new that didnt come with door badging. You can get badge kits off ebay or amazon I'm sure. Dealership if you want to spend $$$

Thanks for all the replies. I thought it was odd but I actually saw another Silverado without nameplates. Some consider it a "cleaner look". I'm not so sure yet, but I have already ordered replacement nameplates. Might keep them off for a while.

You might be the first guy I’ve heard of that wanted to put the name plates back on.

I think it kinda depends on the badging. My big Z71 door badges are awesome I'd throw those on there if it already had the silverado on the side too but some people like the accent it gives it. Like I'd love some redline badges in place of the chrome silverado on my tailgate. Just depends on the build and the person....and the badge haha

Definitely agreed, everyone has their own likes/dislikes...

I know a lot of people love the Redline emblems, but I took all of mine off as well as the factory wheels with that tacky red stripe and replaced them with black replica GMC honeycomb's. So basically the only originally Redline detailing I kept were the red tow hooks and chrome inner grill. Thought it would be nice to stand out a little from all of the other Midnight Editions and blacked out LT's in my area. To each his own..

I'd love to have them redline emblems [emoji6] but yeah, I've always thought GM had pretty good dispersion of emblems and stuff like that

To each their own, but for the life of me, I can't figure out the Chevy/GMC fanboys who wouldn't be caught dead in a Ford or Ram, but then they always remove all traces of GM's names/emblems/Bowties, etc from their trucks, the first chance they get.

It's like, lemme get this straight, you love the truck, and you had to pay a lot extra to get that upgraded Trailboss/AT4/High County/Denali/etc. trim package, but you don't want John Q Public to know what you're driving??

It looks plain without anything on them, too much real estate.

Some people aren't concerned with their image. On the other side you have those that are too concerned and have let people know they drive a particular model or have a certain option. They make them jump out with bold off setting colors or add badges like 4x4 or engine size like if no one knows their masculinity takes a hit. Case in point those gaudy raptor graphics...

Although, I will admit I do like the wide body and general aesthetics of the Raptors.. Those massive bed graphics and seat headrest logos that scream RAPTOR are absurdly obnoxious.

We get it guys.. you have a $70k plus truck that you will more than likely never use to it's intended capabilities, but don't worry, your status symbol message was received loud and clear to everyone on the road around you.
