My wife has the habit of showing crap into the door pockets of whatever vehicle she’s in And it’s a

pain in the butt to clean it all out.  Used to be trucks had knobs all over to hang bags on, but not any more, so I had my 17 year old son 3D print a solution for my 2020 Silverado,  REMOVABLE TRACH BINS!!!

I have one on the drivers side & he’s currently printing one for the passenger side.

If anybody is interested let me know ([email protected]) with what you think they are worth and I’ll have him get back to you.  Each one takes almost 20 hours to print Individually and we’re guessing a pair would take about 24hrs.

They are printed using PLA filament

I don’t think this is a habit unique to just your wife, Lol. This act is also one of my dear wife’s calling cards. ??

Every darn time we pull into a gas station I have to ask her if she has any trash to get rid of. I don't know what her ride would look like if it weren't for me.

My wife’s always been a pack rat. Her backseat and trunk are always full. Same with the center console and passenger side seat. Me on the other hand everything is spotless. So instead of constantly nagging I leave her car alone and she respects mine. Funny how that transfers to everything else. I load the dishwasher all day. She would just at night. We have a once a month cleaning person. I still vacuumed once a week. I dust, tidy up constantly. Especially during the dormant time for yard activities. So yes I’m a little OCD. She’s a little laid back. Survival means no nagging. Pretty much got us through 47 years.

That's awesome! I love this kind of innovation. There should be a dedicated thread for sharing 3D printed creation.

Although I just want to point out, it's printed with PLA? you know PLA has a low melting point, they likely won't survive summer heat in a car. ABS is the go-to for car prints, I've also had good luck with PETG even in automotive applications. It's still a great idea though!

Do you have the step file? i might do some modfications.

if you're willing to share!

I'd add a small accommodation in the bottom so I can use body adhesive tape to install a small magnet in the bottom of the door panel, and one in the bottom of the trash bin...hold it securely in place between emptying.
