I know.  I know.  My 81 year old father in law wants to order a new AT4 because of the way it looks but has a hard time climbing in and out.  The truck will be on the highway 99.999% of the time and if it ever is off the pavement, it will be a gravel road.  I tried to talk him into the Denali but he hates the chrome and the cost of the AT4 parts to make the swap are stupid expensive.  Does anyone know how GM achieves the 2" lift and can it be reversed?

Curious of this myself. And im the same as your father, hate chrome, love the look of the at4. Due to a back injury from the military, there are days that getting in and out are a challange.

I think basically it is different shocks/struts, blocks, and front axles. You could easily remove the rear block and change the shocks. Not sure on the impact of the front axles with lowering.

GM also offers a 2" lift kit thru accessories.

Have a look at the kit --- it will show what is changed.

Has he looked at an Elevation in a colour he likes?  Might be a lot easier than removing a lift.

Maybe a Denali and change the grill and/or grill surround or an SLT and vinyl wrap the chrome bumper?

Thanks.  I looked at swapping all of the various trim pieces and the cost was astronomical.  Best estimate from the body shop I trust was over $6500 parts and labor.  I can't imagine the cost of the lift kit installed will be more than half that.
