My truck is less than a year old and the rubber is coming off the keyfob already.  Is anyone else having this issue?

My clear/rubberized overlay "skin"  started to blister and come off of both remotes after only a couple of weeks.  I just completely peeled the remaining rubber "skin" off of the base rubber top.  I was worried the ink markings for the functions would come up with it or wear off quickly once the clear "skin" was gone, but after 10 months I am still good.  It is pretty pathetic that a part of the truck you touch all the time and is constantly with you does this.   Quality?  Really?

My 20 Sierra just had the same problem. I believe it's from my keys staying in my pocket all of the time now and the ones on the keychain scratching against it. I looked on google and it came up with several replacement options. The one I got was basically a blank OEM case. All I had to do was transfer over the guts from the old one to the new one. It was $13 shipped. I was at my dealer recently and talking to my sales man. He said I should have called him 1st as they have a box of spare keyfobs in the back that they could have just given me one. LOL

I'm a big fan of the silicone slip-on fob covers mentioned at the beginning of the thread.

Kinda wondering when GM is going to address simple wear issues which have a huge ROI on customer satisfaction. Things like keyfobs that fall apart, seat bolsters which show wear at 20k miles. $50k for a truck, you'd think they could spend the $10 extra to make those things a little more robust.

Lol. That's definitely not me. But you are correct, it is one cause. Another is GM using crappy plastic-coated side bolsters on their leather seats, and weak cloth on their cloth seats. The increased ride height of a pickup doesn't help the situation, and most of them don't come with steps or running boards.
