Faced with the same thing and with the same information they would have made mistakes that people in forums would have been writing about same as them. Different mistakes? Maybe. But terrible mistake none the less.... so yes, then. That clear it up? Irks me that a 'man' has a plan that was reasonable and doable and yet trashed talked because they dislike his poly-tics? Because he made mistakes? That isn't poly-tics that's just bullheaded. We always make the best decisions and call the perfect game on Monday morning. 99.9% of the time humans get it wrong. 1% is just being in the right place at the right time and not doing anything at tall. 

 

I'm not saying everybody is 'doing their best'. There are always those feathering their own nest. I will say that during something like this many are less deliberate about it.

How long ago was the opening? (I honestly can't keep my days and weeks straight any more.)

Sorry on the delay. I usually stop posting around 8. The crazies get more so. So does the name calling. Glad I didn’t say anything about oil changes. The answer is 14 days ago. Seem the Pennsylvania health official did a Como. By letting sick nursing home patients go back to the homes. Where 70 percent of deaths are happening. The difference she pulled her mother out. Says her mother requested it. Makes me wonder, if she has that much snap. Shouldn’t she be in a retirement home? It’s cheaper.

Some people still say Como made an honest mistake with the nursing homes. Really? Remember where the deaths started piling up? I’m sure it was an oversight. No one would do it purposely. Meanwhile his brother while under restrictions, with the bug. Thought it was a good idea to take a ride out to visit his home being built. Maybe not so smart moves run in the family. Probably thought he wouldn’t be recognized. Possible. Not many people watch his channel. Maybe he was too busy to notice where and with whom the deaths were accruing. Didn’t they start in accumulating in a nursing home on the west coast. I must be miss remembering.

If I recall correctly, when this virus first hit us we thought there was about a two week delay between exposure and a resultant increase in cases. So if the reopening in Georgia is going to lead to more infections, we should start to see that in the next few days and start to get an idea of what the impact of reopening may look like. 

 

Speaking of hypocrisy, I read somewhere that the Georgia governor's mansion is not open to the public for tours because we're in the middle of a pandemic and it's not safe...

I’m wondering. With another 3 million unemployed this week. I know some people think this has a benign effect, it doesn’t. That maybe opening may be a good idea. Or maybe wait until the domino effect races it to 50 percent unemployment . There’s models out there from brave warriors who are opening . This is a war remember? That are testing their models and resolve. Instead of cheering and praying and hoping. The usual screamers are resting their voice. Waiting for the first death possible uptick to scream I told you so. While the Sweden model showed their way can work in certain areas. The screamers put up charts showing Apple and orange numbers instead of Apple and Apple numbers. I can’t be wrong is their goal. Instead of learning and putting forth lessons learned. The malaria drug is a great example. Last night another positive report came from another study. Instead of learning what applications worked best. Because a certain person says it may work. The other side highlights the failures and ignored the positive results. Shameful.

In late 2019 there was about 156 million people working. In the last couple months almost 35 million people lost their job. Probably more. Unemployment begets unemployment because of buying power. Let that sink in. There could be some encouraging news. If we wise up more manufacturing jobs are poised to move here, for obvious reasons. China.

The vast majority of cases should be presenting themselves 90% and yet....they have not!  Not even with 10x testing?  More MEDIA PLEASE!

These are places were the patient is well enough to not need hospital care but to weak to self care major tasks that are beyond the scope of a nursing home. 

 

Once they are physically strong enough they are returned to their point of origin. If that is a nursing home it is because the FAMILY was unable or unwilling to take care of them OR they have no other place to go. That is no family nor means.

 

That is not the governments fault that is something quite different. 

 

Procedure out of the way lets talk nursing homes. Wife and I pretty much spent the last 15 years in them, several days a week. They have rules. Some are good with rules and some are not. Not every home has people dropping like flies. My Aunt has been in one for about two years now that isn't having any issues of this sort. They are locked down tighter than a drum. She actually in hospice and was not suppose to live 6 weeks. They are doing a GREAT job.

 

We moved Dad several times before we found a responsible one. That said it is a bit more complicated that packing a bag and moving people around. These places have a fixed number of beds. There is a waiting list. Hospital use a 'list' of facilities..yada...yada. 

 

Look, people are in them in the first place for a reason and government isn't that reason. They are places of 'congregation' just like a school. Thing is you can't send them home like a fifth grader. Can you. This is their last stop. IF the family is non responsive or absent....... 

 

Reasonable people would investigate more and blame less.

A flat out lie. Per capita is apple to apples and Sweden's death per capita are higher.

The sad truth is Como had plenty of other places to put them. Curtesy of the federal government. They were left mostly unused. I have a feeling this thread will soon be shut down mainly do to name calling. I will add simply going on line to check out the Sweden model you will find arguments going both ways on their results. Reasonably add the effects of our total shut down to the mix and death, hunger, increase drug use, divorces etc. Ever increasing unemployment not with standing. I will always error on the side of good old fashion America resolve willingness to be free. Then the socialists tendencies the name calling screamers push. Some governors seemed to want to continue lock down in areas of their state with very little virus. People try to open their business and get thrown in jail or license revoked. For their own good they exclaim. Knowing full well that’s the final nail in the business coffin. Venezuela anyone? I don’t lie, I research. No ones ever said that to my face for obvious reasons. I can agree to disagree. That’s why I’ve been married going on 46 years. One size doesn’t fit all. We all would be driving Fords.
