I have noticed that the clear coat on my new GMC Sierra is very soft,  It scratches easily just trying to wipe something off.. has anyone else had same problem ?

I havent really found that to be an issue...

Orange peel.  Now thats an issue.

I have a 2019 Sierra and find just the opposite. I come from many Ford F150’s that seem to have much softer paint. The GMC doesn’t swirl nearly as easily as the Ford’s did.

I'm about to paint correct mine tomorrow, I think it scratches very easy as well.

Some of you may have seen a post on a gmc FB page, but I have 1800 miles or 3000kms on my AT4 and there's lots of paint imperfections. Not at all impressed7934350d93aa9c8a924643bc8039507f.jpgdfdb3005535e8e422646169824d5d091.jpg6261d50938ba4eb1d883db0d626270ee.jpg

Painted bumpers have always been a problem on these trucks.

In regards to the rest of the paint...it’s no better or worse than any other robot painted, water based, mass produced, non-luxury vehicle I’ve owned.

Scratches easy is a relative term. If you go wiping bird crap off with a paper towel, sure. If you keep a good wax on it, and strictly touchless or two bucket hand wash it, shouldn’t really be an issue. Adjust your technique.

Ran griot's 3 in 1 across the entire thing and wow. All swirls gone paint looks amazing. Black AT4 by the way. a6d225c387582fb4180e73b9f0788453.jpg

i had an F150 ruby red... and now have an '18 slt. i had a lot more touch up spots on the ford than the gmc... i also have an E350 in the garage that has 70k miles and only a couple of marks - not chips up high... gmc probably better than ford in my experience but not close to the e350...

Same here. The most recent F150 that I was referring to a few posts up was also ruby red. Beautiful color, but the paint chips were ridiculous. My Dark Sky SLT so far has much better paint.

PPF solves that problem......had mine done within the first 50-miles.

What is PPF and how does it solve the problem? Serious question.
