having just sold my 2019 due to its “lemon-like” issues, I wonder if the 2022 should be considered a “first MY” like experience just like my 2019 felt and if a 2021 will be more reliable long term.

not sure I drive it enough to really appreciate the addition of “super cruise”.

what do ya’ll think?

I'd love to have Super Cruise. My truck isn't my daily driver, I typically drive it on the weekends, and usually long distance trips to the coast or the mountains. I can definitely appreciate the upgrade, don't know that I'll be ready to spend the money though. I went from a 14 to a 16, but that was helped along by my 14 having the driveline vibration issues. My 19 has been solid, and if it stays that way, I intent to keep it a while.

For the love of god, i hope the interior is updated  .  But i'm excited to see what the new 22 trucks look like

You guys think the engines will finally get a power bump ?

This is going on 8 years with the same engine output.

The 2020 took away rear door buttons that unlock the door.. my 2019 has it on all four doors, the 2020 has only on front doors.

Maybe for 2022, they'll just take the damn door buttons away!

Theoretically, it shouldn’t be looked at as a “first MY” truck because it’s just a styling refresh, and maybe an updated interior. Again theoretical, the main bugs should be worked out by the 2022 MY. Theoretically I will likely be disappointed in my optimism.

I like theories.

Safe to assume most, if not all, of the electronics will be new...welcome back the bugs. My truck’s bugs never left anyway. At worst it’s a lateral move for me.

That's classic GM decontenting for you. They aren't the only ones to do it, just the best (or worst). They'll tell you "you can still get lock/unlock buttons on the rear door, you just have to move up to an LTZ/SLT or higher trim."

They aren’t the first, but they are by far the worst.

No, they took out the buttons for the rear doors completely, that's why I am glad I have a 2019. I am always using that button to get my bags of groceries in the back seat. My friend's 2020 High Country doesn't even have it, only in the front doors. My lowly RST has it on all four doors. Even if the 2022 had an upgraded dash, I probably wouldn't go for it. Gotta have that button on the rear doors! All day long, I'm making errands and putting stuff there.

Hard to say but it looks like the 2022 mule in question has the buttons on the back doors.

If a button is something that turns you away I can only imagine the other stuff in your life that is so below you lol.

I have a key fob with a button that unlocks all 4 doors at once, I'm not sure what is so hard about touching a button once to do the same thing.

What if they're using a 2019 and using it as a fake mule to throw off the paparazzi? A while ago, I saw Opel doing that with the Insignia when I was in Poland (about an hour away from Berlin, Germany). The car had stuff all over it and I gave it a hard look. Even got close enough so I could peek in the "bra" of the car and it was exactly the same as the one I was renting at the same time. The headlights, the grille, then the guy said it was a fake mule to throw off the photographers. He figured I wasn't a car nut so he was a little open about it. Actually, I was, but just didn't know ****** about German Opel cars.
