I actually meant 10 speed for the HD 6.6 not that I hope they would offer the 6.6 in the half tons . ( but i do agree with you )

The 6.2 is plenty good ( however the kid in me wishes GM would up the outputs on their 5.3 and 6.2 given we are now 8 years of same output)
The kid in me wishes for a supercharger upgrade kit via GM Performance, but I fear the compression ratio of the 6.2 makes that unrealistic. Since GM won't do it, I'm looking into Hennessey Performance.

COVID-19 screwed it up. It has nothing to do with marketshare. Iirc, Silverado and Sierra combined outsold F-150 for 2020Q3. It's also why we now have to wait until MY2023 for the ZR2 Silverado.

Nobody said anything about F-150s, skewed results for one quarter, or the unicorn ZR2 that has supposedly been in GM's secret skunk works for 5+ years now.  The fact is Ram has taken over 2nd place in full-sized truck sales, surpassing GM for the first time ever.  The point is, COVID has affected all companies.  And the other auto manufacturers continue to set course, shove off, and get it done--unlike GM they don't rely on one excuse after another for years of delays in upgrading their product to what it should have been in the first place.  Look at the Ram TRX that is coming out now, during the pandemic.

In fairness, the GM twins are outselling the F-Series YTD. Granted, it's only by about 100 units and Ford will probably claw it back by year end, but it's something.

Good find! That diesel with the 3.73 will likely be my next choice even though I cant it on TB . I will opt for the RST instead

Looking at the website the 3.0 with 3.73 gears (Diesel off road package) is no longer available on the RST, looks like a LT only option.

It was. Pandemic screwed it up, so we have to wait another year.

Pandemic started in late February early March, the 21's were in full swing by then and the 8 year old interior was already slated to be reused yet again, it's just GM lagging behind and not caring much at all really. Heck for 21 they are now in 4th place imo as the nissan is a nicer truck imo at this time for the 1500 class, cheaper too. I hope they get off their backsides in 22 as Ford and FCA is just on a different playing field right now and that is a shame imo.

When you said "marketshare" you were specifying all the trucks in the segment, which includes the F-150. Therefore, you did bring it up.

If data is skewed for 1 quarter, then it's skewed for everybody for 1 quarter. Fact is, while Ram and Ford had trucks on their lots to sell, Chevy dealers. So, if you want to talk about skewed numbers, then we can talk about GM not having trucks to sell is what allowed Ford and Ram to sell more trucks.

Secret skunkworks, lol. The ZR2/ZRX, or whatever alphabet soup they want to use has been testing in the Nevada desert for over a year with the same race team that Chevy tested the Colorado ZR2 with.

Yeah, umm, NOPE. My 2020 Silverado was built in June. I've seen some people on this forum post up theirs was built in July and August. The 2021s were not "in full swing" in February or March. Iirc, you couldn't even order 2021s until last month. The truth is GM enacted development freezes company-wide to make sure they had the cash needed to come out of the pandemic with the ability to keep making cars. The new interiors were originally planned to go into Silverados and Sierras for the 2021 model year, when the new Tahoe and Suburban came out. That got pushed back due to COVID.

Your opinion that GM interiors are in 4th place is just that -- your opinion. Others, like myself, prefer the current interior over the upcoming one. I bought a truck, not a car. I want a truck interior with a truck column shifter. The push/pull buttons on the new interior is not what I want in my truck. I considered waiting. I thought about waiting for the new interior, and then thought about waiting for the ZR2, but I chose to buy now because I prefer the current interior. I looked at Ram. Yes, it has a nice interior, but Ram also has a history of electrical failure. I also don't like the turn knob transmission selector. I looked at a Tundra TRD Pro, but wasn't comfortable with their interior (and mpg sucked). I thought the Titan interior was the worst executed. Those big cutouts on both sides of the radio look like they should be air vents, but Nissan put in vents that were half the size. The red bezels in the dash were poorly executed. Ram did a much better job with their red adverbs on the interior.

My biggest gripe about GM interiors is the packaging. A loaded $60k LT Trail Boss without power lift gate, GPS (not talking about Android Auto/Apple Carplay), wireless charging, memory power seats, cooled leather seats, and power everything towing mirrors with all the cameras is absolutely stupid. Some things I care more about than others, such as wireless charging and GPS. And, GM didn't fix any of these issues with the 2021s. A loaded 2021 High Country is only a little bit more. Imo, the Trail Boss should've been an option package, not a trim level. An LTZ Trail Boss would've been in my driveway if they had built one.

CAD files sent to suppliers for the refresh were labeled 2022 model year back in mid-2019. The pandemic had nothing to do with it. Development was done and 2022 was always the plan.

Whether it’s a stupid plan or not is up for debate, but it is what it is. They want six years out of this platform and 2022 is half way.

It’s no secret that they had to rush the T1 in for 2019 because if they didn’t, Ram would have eaten even more of their lunch.

That's not what they were saying from the very start, including to the media like TFL, C&D, GM Authority, etc. Therefore, what you're saying is GM was knowingly lying. That constitutes fraud.

I am aware of the articles that said there might be a new interior for 2021. They were not based on statements from GM; it’s not in their best interest to pour cold water on their current sales by doing that.

Automotive blogs are kinda like tabloids...

Guess something changed over the weekend, because now you can option the RST with the Diesel off road package.
