Having trouble getting the center caps off my OEM rims

Trying to get the center caps off my argent metal pocket rims to switch them out for the black bow tie version but not having luck. I tried the fishing line trick on YouTube. Might try the tape method tomorrow if it stops raining. Any other tips that don’t involve taking the wheel off or scratching the rim?

Good luck is all I can say. Even a really thin screw driver or needle pick is really tough to get in there and still be able to pop it out.

Taking the wheel off is so much faster and easier, plus no chance at damaging the rim.

Swap em out at your next tire rotation / oil change.

Take off the wheel, you're going to damage something taking shortcuts.

Ok then. Sound like the consensus is to take the tire off. I’m going in for an oil change sometime this month. I’ll have them pop off the caps when they rotate the tires for it. Thanks guys.

Get a cheap hot glue dent puller and glue a post to the center of the cap. Comes off in one good yank by hand. And the glue peels right off, doesn’t hurt anything. I’ve changed mine twice this way.

Drive a self tapping screw into the center cap with a cordless drill. Then use a pair of pliers to pull on the screw. They pop right off. But only if you aren't interested in keeping the old ones because they are now garbage! I did this when I swapped out for the black emblem caps. Zero damage to the wheel if your careful. Only takes a few minutes and your done!

I like that too much! can I see the side profile of the truck with em on
