So happy I bought a 2020 Double cab LTZ because it looks like it the last one's. GM has pulled this build in 2020 no more of them. You need to go to crew cab to get the LTZ package. Some of us just need that double cab over the crew. For me rear seat is for my junk . After having 2 midnight editions in a row I needed some chrome this time around looks like it will be my last double cab LTZ.

Probably just didn't sell enough to warrant this set up .  I have honestly only seen 1 DC LTZ myself in the T1s 2+ years they been out.

My local dealer never stocked any DC Silverados, I inquired and they said they would never sell and sat on the lot forever. He said they also frown on dealing with any trade-in DC trucks.

GM normally doesn’t discontinue something that sells.....

To each their own, but the CC sure is nice and gives a ton of room regardless if you use it for passengers or not. Pack it full of camping gear or good space for the dogs.

Nice looking truck though....

While disappointing, this is not surprising.  Most trucks are spending more time at soccer practice than on the jobsite.  With production limitations, they might as well make the ones that make the most profit.

When they put the door handles on the outside of extended cabs I guessed the configuration would be phased out.  I like the look of an extended/super cab configuration but the recent versions were simply smaller crew cabs, imo!

True,  it looks silly.

My last 2 trucks have been DC's for these 2 simple reasons;

It' s usually just me and/or one other in my truck. If I need the rear seats, it's still reasonably comfortable for normal sized people, for normal trips.
The rest of the time, it's usually either sales materials, groceries and/or dirtbike stuff in the back.

I want the 6.5' box and don't want a truck that turns like a school bus. I'm not interested in the 5.5' box, it's too small to be really useful for pickup related stuff. I use the box for deliveries, recreation and getting building supplies, among other things. I had the 5'8" box on my last truck & the 6.5 is waaaaay better.

It's hard enough to park this one when in the city & going longer wheelbase would just make life tougher. This layout give the best of both worlds. I had a single cab at one time and have no interest in ever doing that again.

Double cab isn't leaving, just the LTZ trim level for 2021.

SLT and AT4 Double Cab are also discontinued on the GMC side.

This is only on the 1500s. If you want an LTZ or SLT DC you can still get it, just gotta step up to a big boy 2500HD.

Got it, thanks.  I wonder if this may be like how they phase out other features by first relegating the availability to the base models?

Your reasons are exact same as mine for getting a DC.  I think it's the perfect compromise of both worlds.

All of this is why I was very happy to order, receive, and now drive my DC SLE. As we all know, for a 2021 DC, only had a choice between Elevation or SLE.
Fortunately enough, I actually prefer the trim options I was sort of forced into: cloth seats, minimal safety nannies, chrome bumpers (well, that was preference in choosing SLE over Elevation).

All worth it for the DC, even with the extraneous pair of door handles. ?

It’s a perfect configuration for me. Just enough cab, and a real pickup truck bed.,

Add me to the few.  2019 Silverado DC LTZ.  I hardly ever have anyone in the back, wanted the standard bed.  It had been sitting at the dealer for over 6 months.  Got a good deal so couldn't pass it up. I wasn't looking for an LTZ.
