For those of us using the Amsoil dexosD oil.  How do you like it?

Has anyone done any UOA?

Difference in performance or MPG?

How does it sound? Any difference in engine clatter?

Lastly, what’s the oil consumption rate if any?

Put Amsoil in this last oil change, so far really haven't notice a difference on mpg or loss of oil from what I've had in it before which was Mobile1 from factory fill. Not too worried other than a good option. Used several other Amsoil products in several vehicles and toys I've had so know how it works. Buddy of mine works at GM at the proven grounds doing testing and its all he uses and sells, so I'm good with it.

ACDelco DexosD is the factory fill, not Mobil 1.  Just for clarifying.

Is there a real material difference between the two?  Honest question, I have no idea.

Just to clarify, not wanting a debate on the different oils.  Just wanted to know ACDelco vs the Mobil1 used at the dealer.  I'm good with a yes or no.

UPDATE:  Please ignore this post/question. I was mistaken.

Dealer does not use Mobil one for the DexosD (mini diesel). they only have ACDelco DexosD.

I'm not sure but i am following

Sorry, my mistake.  Didn't realize we are talking about diesel and not gasser.   I will delete my question post if I can.

Diesel vs gas yes.  Boils mostly down to emissions system protection so low sulfated ash content.  Gas oils however are heading down this route as well.  Both gas and diesel oils, especially the latest gas engine oils are designed for turbo deposit control and DI fuel contamination.

As far as gas oil ACDelco Dexos dealer vs Mobil 1, there are probably slight variations in the additive packages.

One of the gotcha's is that these days there are MANY versions of Mobil1. (not just viscosity differences)

Makes it easy to select the wrong Mobile1 product.

Otoh, my dealer is telling me that Mobile is the current supplier of the ACDelco oils -- but I have no idea how they know that.

I do know that at least some lubricants get packaged with labels from more than one brand.

The GM dealer oil pricing sheet.  It has GM  part#s and it also has ExxonMobil part#s on the list.

They (Exxon Mobil) supply the bulk products, bottled Dexos blend (5w20, 5w30, 10w30) and full synthetic (0w20, 5w30), Mobil 1 products, Mobil 1 ESP for the LT1/LT4/LT5/LTA, Delvac 15w40 for diesels, 8 speed LV ATF HP, Dexron VI and some others.

Yes correct I just worded it goofy when I stated "from factory fill". I ran the factory stuff and changed it @ 4400 miles and went to the Mobile1  for the next 2 changes until this last one when I switch to Amsoil @ 16000 miles. Put on 4000 since then. Don't really expect to see much different results between the two unless I send it in for testing, which I didn't do previous to compare. Not too worried with either other than its such a light oil, even my buddy isn't real comfortable with it.

Well I don’t believe AC Delco DexosD is the same as Mobil ESP x2 (their approved DexosD). Mobil 1 may supply AC Delco but they are selling something different for themselves.

Not that this has anything to do with The OPs request for info on Amsoil. Sorry for the hijack.

The Mobil on the DexosD license chart is not a Mobil 1 product line.  Its Mobil Super 3000 XE2.  This is the same oil as ACDelco DexosD.

dexos®1 Gen 2 | GM (gmdexos.com)

Mobil Super™ 3000 XE2 0W-20

Website must be out of date as the ESP X2 is a DexosD licensed oil on Mobil's site.

It’s been covered before but I believe Super 3000 is only sold in Canada.

ESP x2 is green in color and smells completely different from AC Delco DexosD. It’s not the “same”. I don’t know about Super 3000 because it’s not sold in the US

And here I thought I was the only one that smells engine oil.
