What is the typical cause that the inside pad wears considerably faster than the outside pad?  Had my pads replaced a few months ago and have heard the squeaking and wondered why when they were done by a shop not too long ago.  Decided if I want something done right I will do myself so did yesterday and noticed the outside pad had TONS of life left but the inside one barely any in fact almost down to the metal.  I feel I know the answer but want your thoughts.  The caliper bolts I notice were pretty stiff I doubt they greased them like they were suppose to.  Also does not seem like the pads had good movement on the bracket so once again they most likely missed adding grease.

Slide pins frozen or stuck caliper piston. In that order. Grease is easy and still the mechanic is too lazy to apply it ROUTINLEY.

Thanks and I am thinking most likely the Slide pin as one seemed really stuck getting off, dry with no grease.  I did grease them good before putting back on so hoping that fixed issue.  If not then I will replace the calipers.

My ‘08 was eating inner pads even after replacing the calipers, I ended up replacing the rubber hoses between the frame and calipers, so far so good.

I was actually just looking at the calipers and the guide pins but neither come with the rubber boots.  Where did you end up getting the rubber boots?  If need I want to replace all.  Or are you talking about the rubber brake lines?

I’ve done a few brake jobs. I would clean the calipers mostly with brake clean. I never put grease on. I traveled on dirt roads daily. Grease, oil are dirt magnets I couldn’t get right with that. I would often go to a pressure wash car wash and spray around the brakes as part of my routine. Never a problem. Its a good practice to make sure everything is clean during a brake job. And sliding like it should. I bet that’s where the problem lies.

I feel I may of fixed the issue but after a couple thousand mile I will inspect again to be sure.  I did clean everything off pretty good so hoping is good now.  And I bet you are right.

I had the same issue when I did my brake job a couple of months ago. Just put the new brakes in and moved on lol

Plan on doing a 4 or 6 piston swap anyways.

I had that problem on my 92. After replacing the calipers that was the fix.

Nice.  what kit you looking at?  I was looking at either Wilwood or Baer or even Power Stop.  They look stunning and of course good performance.

Those Brembo's are no doubt the baddest/$exiest period.  Too bad the price agrees.

Thanks.  still mad at the fact at whoever designed the caliper to use T-55 Torx probably got rich for all the T-55 torx bit sold due to this caliper(most likely made behind door deal).  two parts stores were sold out for that reason before finally having to buy a whole kit.  The part's store's employees told me as such as far as they cannot keep them in stock due to these trucks.  Frustrating.  Made sure the kit I bought had lifetime warranty for not if but when I break the bit next time.
