Again Keystone XL was mainly for the Canadians and not for us so much. So yes it would have helped Canadians out a bit but not really us

Yes though my coworker is selling his 2021 6" lifted Tundra because of his mpg. Getting a Camry instead he says

That's not entirely true. Yes, it is from canada, and they make money on the raw material. However, it adds to the supply overall. It also reduces the shipping costs. So no, it doesn't help "energy independence" in anyway, but it does help lower costs due to greater supply to the world market.

Yeah but the supply that was being added would maybe knock like 5-10 cents off at the pump. Realistically though the prices we see right now are just price gouging.

Its speculating. It dropped 30$ on Covid news in China and peace talks. Alls the administration has to do it’s become more oil friendly the prices would reverse.

Yeah when the big oil barons get scared they jack up the prices.

Oh well, better than having the gov control it.

Fuel cost at the start of this chart was $2.99 / gallon and peaked at $4.25 / gallon. But my cost per mile has risen only 1 cent. Local cost as of yesterday was $3.86 / gallon dropping 28 cents from the previous high. Have I seen the worst of it yet? :dunno:

Yes I've only burnt a few tanks all winter. She hibernates 😉 But careful step increases in mileage based on data and experiment has offset most of the resent price increase. Improvement from 25.4 to 27.9 mpg is a 10% improvement offsetting 30 cents a gallon. Driving the Honda the remainder. Drops another 30 cents and I'm back to normal.

The experiments continue and they continue to improve the result.

This chart spans 1/20/2020 to 3/15/2022

I don't control the markets. No influence over world events or other peoples attitudes or poly-tics. I work with what I have and can influence. I'll drive mine....you drive yours......

Cheaper lower pain than heading to Ukraine to fight.  Total cost of ownership is key that you turned. Fuel just one part of the equation.

Thanks for sharing.

I just wanna know why you never hear about anything if the price per barrel drops or the whole sale price for gasoline drops. Why is that never plastered all over the news unlike when the barrel or whole sale price rises?

I watch COSTCO gas pricing like a hawk. 15% over cost price structure.

I laugh my butt off watching the others.

The difference is the difference between supply and demand and good old fashion price gouging.

GasBuddy App is good cheap entertainment.

You both are spot on.

Inflation is so high because corporations are greedy and friggen big oil is subsidized by us!!!

Sounds like some of the last few post want government control like socialism. The gas prices went up because of the anti oil lobby especially from the president. We see it all the time remember when Covid started no more toilet paper. Why the masses pick that I’ll never know. Inflation went up from our government printing money. Basic economics.

Going to Walmart this morning I’m seeing a slight reduction in fuel prices. Then I read a barrel went over 100$ again.

I held out as long as I could. Was hoping it would creep down a little more, but I had to fill up today.  B0BC7C2E-4996-4FBC-8B08-4B0D727469F0.thumb.jpeg.dfb26be640e81722e382d57dac410341.jpeg
I’m sure they work overtime to remove the “I did that” stickers. This was the first pump I’ve seen that didn’t have one, or residue from one. Yeah, we all know.

Didn't drop a single penny in the city I live in even though oil did drop over the past week but now it's on the rise again so it will never actually drop.

If I leave the populated area's into a somewhat rural area I did find it for $3.79 a gallon.

I think I posted this before. I know people have seen refueling tankers at gas stations. It takes awhile to go through those. So prices change when they get a delivery. I’ve seen differences of fifty cents a gallon when they we’re going up. Now I’m seeing five cents difference going down. Gas stations are independent business. Not owned by refinery’s. The gas prices and soon food prices are direct result of who sits in congress and the White House. The only man made global warming you’ll see this year turning your AC off because you can’t afford the fuel surcharge. The electric company’s  going to hit you with. Now imagine you were plugging in a electric vehicle. Here’s your taste of where we’re headed. You like?
