Didn't drop a single penny in the city I live in even though oil did drop over the past week but now it's on the rise again so it will never actually drop.

If I leave the populated area's into a somewhat rural area I did find it for $3.79 a gallon.

Filled up at COSTCO last night. $3.68 a gallon. Nearly a DOLLAR lower than my local Casey's. Casey's is 2 miles away. COSTCO 22 miles. For $20 a tank I can burn two gallons getting it and still be ahead. Way ahead. :P We shop and eat out in that area anyway so it is never a 'wasted' trip.

Yeah, the closer you get to the cities the less they want to change because it's all about getting profit.

Today up in Albany it was 3.79 for gas and 4.59 for diesel but when I made it to Long Prairie it was 3.89/4.89.

Elk River has E30 for $3.19 and E85 for $2.69 a gallon.

I'd come out way ahead when the weather warms up and I start running E85 full time.

Cruising to town gas is around the 3.60 range. Saw a report today that the rig count is half at what it was the last time we experienced a jump in prices. When asked why. Oil executives say that government regulatory uncertainty is the reason. They don’t want to invest and then get keystoned was the reason.

One thing about $2 a litre for gas is savings appear quickly!  Running off to the store for one item in a pickup truck is no longer the norm at our home.  Also driving across town to save a couple of dollars on a sale item has become a thing of the past.  I am not a fan of high fuel prices as incentive to reduce emissions, but it is effective! 😉

100%  I don't drive my truck more than 4-5 times a month,  I recently picked up a cheapo 4 cylinder  Jap-can, 30mpg in the city feels amaizing

You can't convince me that buying a 30 mpg vehicle is the way to go. The purchase price, insurance and maintenance would buy a lot of gas.

My wife never liked trucks or SUVs, even minivans. She usually drove in the last 30 years sport, mid sized, the last 11 years a full sized car. I’ve always had a truck for work all sizes. As much as I like my trucks they don’t compare to the gas mileage, comfort and performance of cars. After living through several of these gas price fluctuations I can’t imagine having a gas guzzler as my main ride. Its a shame the there is a chip shortage. The last time trucks were a dime a dozen. Makes me appreciate my Genesis and CRV that can get 30 plus miles per gallon. While my Avalanche gets limited use for the time being. I can’t imagine having one vehicle. They both don’t need to be trucks. More expensive? Not when you’re disciplined enough to have one or both paid off. In my case 4. It pays to be prepared.

Every member of my family growing up has been seriously injured in accidents while driving in small cars.  For our house, a full size vehicle is a matter of safety and paying higher fuel costs is the price of safety.  It's God's money anyways and he don't mind.

Our full-size vehicles are more comfortable and fuel efficient for moving our family across country or to dinner.

Damn, really? Every member? Size doesn’t mater, it’s the crash test rating. Driving school anyone?

I just looked it up Chevy truck 4 star rating, CRV 5. Over all passenger cars are safer than trucks.
