I will not get into how i clean and have cleaned the filters. It gets to be to much of a crap show with people that have never and will never use a reusable filter.

I’ll stick with spin ons for 4-8 bucks a pop.  

I dont send mine in to be cleaned. If a person cant figure out how to clean one without the expensive machine or sending it in. They shouldn't be using one.

... Although i do have 2 now. Because the can itself and filter are the same, but the base plate that screws onto the vehicle changes thread size. I asked about getting just the base but they dont sell that. So i had to get another, so, i have a base that fits another/other vehicles and the base that fits the cheby and 2 sets of the rest. So, per say, have 2.

Spray her out with carb cleaner or brake parts cleaner? They look cool. Must have a special wrench that holds onto those teeth around the edge.

They do sell a special wrench part for the teeth. I dont have one. I use a strap wrench. Now the part/wrenchy thingy, that takes it/the guts, apart is interesting.

Hear is my story how i got into the first reusable filter.

I have had a number of Harleys. I subscribed to easy riders magazine. A guy did an around the world ride on his sportster. Drove/ rod it as much as he could. Used a reusable filter because not all country's and or places have a Harley filter ready on hand. This was before the computer craze of being able to sit on the couch and order parts to be delivered anywhere.

I worked outside so no big deal to  go for a scoot ride in the winter. It was simple to be able to change the oil per the temp outside and clean the oil filter, dry it and reinstall it. Worked for me.

Hear is what i noticed on the Harley. The first one i had it on was not a bagger, it had no oil psi gage, but the simple sound of the motor getting more oil and the pump working less hard to pump that thick oil was very noticeable. The top end quieted down quit a bit.

   The first bagger with a oil psi gage in the dash proved it/the reusable was worth something. New i used Harley filters for warranty, then put the reusable on. Oil psi was way better. The best part was with the stock filter, stuck in traffic stop and go, and the air cooled motor getting very hot. The oil gage would tank out at 0 with the stock type filter. With the reusable, it never, ever, went below 5psi. So besides the motor sounding more smooth, it got more oil in a bad situation it wouldnt have gotten.

I’ve done lots of things to my vehicles over the years, even made my own fuel to burn in my diesel trucks. Worrying whether my oil filter is up to the job is way down the list. I’d be worried that I over cleaned and forced dirt to clean side of the filter. When I cleaned my air filters that was always on my mind. Now with my personal experiment of driving high mileage older vehicles. It seems the regular off the shelf oil filter is doing it’s job. There’s a few things on some of my older vehicles that I had to modernize to add to my driving  comfort and safety. Some are blue tooth speakers, recover seats, to name a few. As I approach 200K miles  reverting back in time to a 1960 style oil filter hasn’t made the list.

I've never heard of those Hubb filters. They're certainly interesting. I could see it being useful if one is putting on lots of miles during the course of ownership, but it would seem to take quite a bit to break even on the costs of a disposable filter.

Multipass testing is the only way to compare oil filters apples to apples. Beta ratio is how we compare scientifically and get that reality compared. This is an interesting setup using two screen sets. Here is an article from testing that brought multi pass into ASTM standards from 1985 before it was a standard. 
Hubb needs to share the multipass Beta values to compare to current paper/synthetic fiber media filters. Read up. See chart.

Huh? They are at least coffee filters, not sure what you are trying to get at or say.

What did you not grasp? Oil filters are secondary to a good clean high flowing air filter in our engines.

Yeah, they used to put a roll of toilet paper in a canister to use as an oil filter. Now they'd be on here arguing Charmin SuperMega Ultra vs WallyWorld's cheapest single-ply. 🤣

In all honesty.................   Ill be the first one to manup and admit NOT to use something i have used/tried, if it causes damage to something. 

... I am not pushing a product, i dont argue what filter for anything is the best or worst.

For example, of what didnt work for me. DONT ask a girl you met at a biker bar, to marry you wile at the said biker bar. The marriage did last 12 years though.
