That's was one of my thoughts....

My truck sometimes shows a "Systems Upgrade"!

With today's vehicles the manufacturer probably know when a fart is discharged inside leading to a "Check Cabin Filter"😂

In Texas we have those two lane roads ( better built than a lot of highways) with passing lanes every 4 miles. No cows, goats etc.

Oh! I think a $5 pair of balls will probably fit you small!

I will send you $10.

Originally I asked a question to see if anyone had had this same issue so if you don't have good feedback , keep it shut and Keep strolling!

Good Day!!

I live in Texas, point me to these two lane back roads that is anywhere remotely better than a highway that is not under construction (construction zones don't count).

So, you couldn't wait four miles to pass? We have plenty of animals to hit as well as rogue live stock that may get out, I see that many of times.

Your truck has always been 98mph, nothing has changed. Probably best honestly.

Since when do you need to pass someone doing 30 over the limit?

I can two lane pass someone doing 10 over pretty easy lol. Maybe it just really gets to people that they can't get to their destination 3 minutes faster. I drive for my job, so I see this happen all the time. I end up meeting them at the next stop light when they pass me and I honk my horn the second the light turns green because they are now slowing me down.....

I love reading post from people who have no idea how long and smooth Texas roads are. Snow belt and east coast roads can’t compare. I lived in both. In the 40 years I lived in Texas I never needed a front end alignment. Any yes some two lane roads have 75 mile per hour speed limits. Most have 70 mile per hour speed limit. Hitting the rev limit while passing isn’t a problem. Way up the road while passing someone could easily turn on the road towards you. You’re going to want the extra speed to complete the pass. Especially if you’re passing a tractor trailer. I’m going to accelerate until I clear. Nothing is more stomach churning when the vehicle shuts down while passing. If you haven’t lived Texas and west roads you don’t have a clue. Getting rid of the limiter was always first on my list.

Like the phrase goes..."everything in Texas is bigger", in this case the roads....  Don't hate on OP if you haven't driven on Texas roads.

Pulsar LT, that would be your resolution to change/remove the speed limiter. Since you have other mods for better performance, the Pulsar LT might be your best get go to even improve your truck's performance.

how do the police feel about this 100+ mph passing ?  I had a couple close calls at 100+ in my younger days so I know how fast things can go bad. Both were in a 65 Chrysler 383, late at night on divided highways, in 1 instance coming up on a slower car that was in the travel lane they changed lanes a couple hundred feet in front of me. lock up the brakes do a couple 360s and blow 2 tires, ended up in the breakdown lane instead of the woods in the middle of nowhere at 2am and only 1 spare. it was a long walk home

😁🤣.... when it comes to speeding, braking the law is no concern but rather does one care about killing themself, others or their own family.  Speeding as a maniac regardless of situation is a death trap to all, speeding up to pass a vehicle is a different driving/safety point.  No one can say they've never sped up to pass a vehicle EVER regardless.  In OP case it is a long stretch of "Texas" road.

Gotcha, agree 100%. A lot of states consider that kind of speed driving to endanger which is a felony in some states. Last ticket I got was in Virginia, 82 in a 70, the fines and penaltys listed on the ticket would have been considerably more over 85 mph

Haha, you and I both. Speeding scares the 💩 out of me.

I love reading posts of people who over sell something. Smooth? Do you just drive one small section of a local newly paved road? The roads throughout Texas are not smooth in many cases, that or we have different ideas of smooth. Long yes depending on where you are. East Texas is plenty hilly with turns, not like out west. The hill country can have plenty of open spaces but usually those that don't have passing zones every so often.

75 on two lanes is not unheard of here, I think heading out west to hunt past Breckenridge it is 75+ if I remember correctly (I don't have one of those fancy speed reading sign models to jog my memory).

In all my years of driving here and in trucks that have limiters, I have never once hit the limiter trying to pass someone, and I am usually the one doing the passing. So not sure what kind of driving some of you do to necessitate that, but limiters are there for a reason on trucks and if you are needing to go well over 100+ to pass a huge line of vehicles on a two lane, that is not a good time to pass and definitely in the wrong vehicle. Roll the dice enough and they eventually can come up snake eyes.

The weather conditions in Texas lend itself to long lasting roads especially two lanes. Going over 100 isn’t common practice I want the ability. If you live in Texas west and haven’t exceeded the speed limits, you’re in the minority. Hell, your AMX sig suggests high performance. I had a MD special 1970 scat package. Maybe if you live in north Texas the roads are rough possibly. My travels from lake Conroe to Fayetteville NC are smooth sailing. With exception of some in Louisiana. If you’re passing on Texas two lanes and not hitting the limiter. You’re the one taking chances. Most the vehicles I pass are tractor trailers. I don’t linger. Otherwise I usually run the speed limit, the one being passed. You never hit the limiter I’m not believing it.
