Ordered a 24 HD/LT April 29th. MN Dealer said it was built in June. Still sitting in Canada!!!  They have tried to sell me other trucks. Ones that have come in and people got tired of waiting for and went else were. Usually High Country's in the $80's. Dont want a HC. Last one took 9 mo to get to dealer.

I would say someone is feeding you a line of BS. Oshawa is backed up but not anywhere near that badly. The only other possible reason would be if it was in repair but even then the odds of that are virtually zero. Time to find a more honest dealer.

After the dealership re-ordered my '24 HC in the CORRECT color in September, it only took 8 weeks to drop it at dealership. I've been driving it for a week now!

What dealer did you purchase from?

Greetings all:

First posting sooooo, here we go ......

Ordered 2024 Sierra 3500 DOUBLE CAB DUALLY on October 2, 2023.  (yes, the elusive unicorn)

My GMC dealer is smaller but reputable and stated up front they did not have an allocation and likely would not during the remainder of 2023. Dealer required an up front $5000 deposit that, once the factory accepted the order, would be non-refundable.

Will be interesting to watch the time line:

10/2/23 - Order placed and deposit made.

11/7/23 - Follow up; Salesperson stated no allocation available to dealer. They have however requested additional assistance from GM rep, but no response.

12/14/23 - Dealer has allocation!!!!!  Unfortunately, factory 5th wheel / ball mount option is constrained. Going to dealer this afternoon to finalize order. Constraint resolved, my truck is now in the que for Flint, MI.

1/30/24 - Production status code = 3400 "Broadcast". Target production week set as 1/29/24.

And the beat goes on ...... So far, so good.

Pretty sure the Costco rebate is only for the 1500s, so you might want to double check that.

Edit: Never mind, looks like they just added the HDs as well!

Went into a local high volume dealer dealership today. I had to sit at his computer and load my build package. He was clueless. He went back to his manager and he came back and offered MSRP. I told him no go on MSRP. I got him down to $2k off MSRP without disclosing my Costco $1k discount certificate. So, $3k off MSRP doesn’t seem too unreasonable. I’m going to do a couple more days of shopping before finalizing a deal.

You should order with the 5er package too. If even for resale purposes. Lots of people want the 5er pkg when looking for a HD.

$5k deposit is very steep. Local dealership here was only requiring $1k just because you're taking up the allocation given.

I'm not seeing any rebates for '24 models from either GM or Costco, looks like the '23's only.

This is from the Costco Auto Program's fine print:

take in stock delivery between November 22, 2023 and January 2, 2024 of a new 2022, 2023, or 2024 Chevrolet: Silverado 2500, Silverado 3500; GMC: Sierra 2500, Sierra 3500 to receive a $1,000 Costco member-only incentive or place a factory order between November 22, 2023 and January 2, 2024 on a new 2024 Chevrolet: Silverado 2500, Silverado 3500; GMC: Sierra 2500, Sierra 3500 to receive a $1,000 Costco member-only incentive.

I just saw this a couple hours ago. I took mine in possession on the 17th, so I'm going to call GM & whine!

Almost the same truck I just picked up yesterday. Mine is a 2500 instead of 3500, but has most of the same options. I have the sunroof, bucket seat, and 5th wheel package, but didn't get the extra battery and alternator, ACC, or camera mirror.

    • I've been eyeing an upgrade to my tonneau cover for a bit now.  Intrigued by the BAK MX4 EZ-Lift with the torsion spring and went for the upgrade.  Thoughts and musings during unpacking, install and a few days of usage.   Once my order went into Realtruck, it took about 4 days to ship.  Unfortunately, FedEx Ground destroyed the box and contents and it was unusable upon receipt.  To Realtruck's credit, one email with pictures and an RMA was sent to me to send the first one back, and another unit was shipped out.  It arrived 3 days later, unscathed.   I opened the box and it looked like every other BAK MX4.   Biggest differences are the rails and retaining clamps, and of course the spring attached to the cover itself.     NOTE - if you are upgrading from a MX4 to the EZ-Lift, you will have to replace the rails.  The EZ-Lift rails have a notch cut in them to allow the new style retaining clamps to fit properly.  The new retaining clamps also have 2 knobs/carriage bolts and there are two tracks underneath the front panel. The strap clips are mildly different (more like the Undercover Flex clamps) in that the screws go in from the underside.  Personally I prefer these over the BAK clamps that use the nutserts that are a nuisance to install.  The remainder of the parts in the box (drain tubes, rail clamps, and bumper pads) are standard issue BAK.     I did not replace my front bed seal at the time because it seemed to be in decent shape.   BAK recommends shims on the GM trucks unless you place the clamps on the flanges about 1/3 of the way in from both the front and rear of the bed.  I shimmed the front and the middle, and initially placed the clamps equidistant.  This also turned out to be a mistake, because when I set the cover in place, the new style retaining clamps wouldn't clear the front clamp.   New style clamp inserted in the track:     And the issue which occurred because the front rail clamp was too far forward:     Once I removed the shim from the front of the bed, and slid the clamp back to the front flange, everything cleared fine.     The cover set on the rails without issue and I installed the strap clamps.  After I completed my adjustments, I pulled the pin to activate the torsion spring.  Mistake #3 on my part.  PULL THE PIN AS THE VERY VERY VERY LAST STEP!  The reason is, once you pull the pin, the torsion spring is activated.  If you have to loosen the front clamps and adjust the cover, the front panel will - by virtue of the spring, refuse to lay down.  The only way to get it to lay down so you can reinstall and tighten the clamps is to fully open the panel against the back of the cab, which will then allow the front panel of the cover to lay down and be tightened.  Not a big deal unless you haven't installed the foam pads yet (typically the last step) because minus the foam pads, you will need to place something between the frame of the cover and the back window so it doesn't get scratched.  The next time I install one I will install the foam pads before I pull the pin and activate the spring.   After using it for a few days:   The spring assist is great.  You literally can open it with one hand.  My shoulders aren't getting any younger and this was part of my motivation to swap out. The second panel latches and unlatches itself as you open and close the cover.  Neat in concept, however it took me a minute to get used to closing the cover and not hearing the "latching" sound that would tell me it was locked in place. The paddle handles are a huge upgrade and I wouldn't be surprised to see them become the standard across the Realtruck line.  They effectively eliminate the concern that a thief could coat hanger the cover open and get to the contents in the bed. I'm not sure why the very front panel on my cover has a different finish from the other 3 panels.  I have a request into Realtruck to find out if mine was not manufactured properly or if it was by design.   All in all I'm pleased.  Same level of protection, looks good, keeps stuff mostly dry (they all leak around the tailgate) and easy to install.
