That is what the dealer would use.  It will work fine, just keep it changed out every 30k for best results.

I second this. My factory filled fluid was cooked by 30,000 miles, but that was also before the new lower temp thermostat was available to purchase.

Think I was about 45K when I did my first service, and the fluid was toast. Every 25K since. Nothing magic about that number other than it is easy for me to remember. 😉 I too did a new TBV and a larger pan. More cooler is in the works.

I use my; handy/dandy, Amsoil hand pump to pump out 1 gallon of ATF from my truck via the dipstick tube, every 15,000k or so!!!  Been doing that since 45k on the clock.

204,0xx on the clock now!!  OEM tranny.

Did anyone have the fluid analyzed ?  My experience with Dex6 and Transynd is that the pink/red color fades fairly quickly but the times I had it analyzed it was far from condemnable. Visually it doesnt seem to hold up well. For some reason Dex3 holds its color much longer.

Not saying its EVER a bad idea to cycle some new ATF into a unit. I am a firm believer in ATF being dramatically cheaper than trans work.

Depends.  Do you have a 6 speed or 8 speed transmission?

6 speed, go for it.

If you have the 8 speed, this is not the correct fluid.  You need the Mobil 1 LV ATF Synthetic HP, specifically the one with the blue label on the bottle.

I have 6 speed I didn’t know it was legit bc last time I looked there wasn’t a listing for full synthetic

Yes and AMSOIL's ATL will work in all three.  I used it in all our GM vehicles.  In our 6L80 Suburban and in my 2019 Silverado 10L80

Not necessarily.   Many dealers use bulk fluids supplied by a GM approved vendor who delivers it and fills the holding tanks.  It meets the same spec but it could be some other brand that GM approves.  Currently they have contracts with SOPUS and Mobil but that does not prevent the dealer from getting it somewhere else for a lower price and charge GM prices.
