I'm ready to pull trigger on a new truck .  Been shopping and test driving for a few weeks now.  I get GM family discount through my family.

With all the available rebates, I can get this 2023 Silverado RST for $53,435 which is a smoking deal.  Has 6.2L, sunroof, leather, adaptive cruise, etc.

https://www.gmfamilyfirst.com/byo-vc/client/vehicle-shopper-vdp/en/US/chevrolet-ff/silverado/2023/silverado-1500#?pagesize=24&radius=50&models=Silverado 1500&years=2023&makes=Chevrolet&postalcode=44141&filterconfigkey=Chevrolet-2023-Silverado-1500&requestedPostalcode=44141&open-panel=Powertrain&trims=RST&engineCodes=L87&scrollposition=888.8889770507812&vin=1GCUDEELXPZ135062&filtermatched=exactmatch&primarydealerdistance=32.0&bac=259406&pagenumber=1&dealerSearchBy=bac&brand=Chevrolet

Or I can get this loaded 2022 Denali with 6.2L, 27k miles.  has all the options, magnetic ride, tailgate speakers and tonneau cover which is very nice.

https://www.autofind.com/dealer/details/11333/1GTU9FEL4NZ145963/

Basically this comes down to whether or not the new dash layout is worth it.  The GMC tailgate is something I actually want also - I ride dirt bikes and that tailgate is a nice feature.  The tonneau cover is worth about a grand also cuz I'd need to buy that on new truck.

I had close to the same choice when I bought my last new one. A new year old left over Denali or a new Texas Edition with the 5.3. The Texas Edition was deeply discounted. I really wanted the 6.2. In my case the Texas Edition had the E-85 option that closed the gap on the 6.2. In your case with used or used Im going new. That’s what I did.

I'd go with the 2022. I'm not a fan of the refresh console. They ruined it by placing a shifter in the middle of prime real estate where space is used and needed every trip.

I actually prefer the console shifter vs the column shifter... It feels much more natural and sporty....

I think the dash refresh is a huge upgrade.  The 2022 model dash is actually a half step behind the infotainment system in my 2018 Grand Cherokee that I'm getting rid of

I hate the console shifter. It isn't natural at all for someone that has logged as many miles as I have.. Pushing forward to go backwards from Park makes no logical sense. I would love to have the column shifter as it would ALSO eliminate that much more "tech for the sake of tech" crap that GM insists on stuffing into their vehicles.

I love the new dash.

I hate the console shifter. Waste of space, and it's in the road when accessing the cubby the the row of switches in front of it.

Fwiw, the 'refresh' 2500/3500 didn't get stuck with the console shift -- and the SUV's didn't get stuck with the console shift.

console shifter feels natural to me after driving sporty cars and Jeep Grand Cherokees for 20 years, they all had center console shifter.

So back to the trucks?

Go new is better. The new Dash and layout is so much better!

that's how I'm leaning.  The interest rate is better on new trucks also and I'm finding some incredible deals.

Not exactly sure why some models are so discounted and others aren't.  There was a 5.3 Denali by me last week that was marked down $12k.  other ones on the lot, barely anything.

I went from a '21 SLT to a '23 Elevation. Both had the 5.3. For me the change in the dash was worth it, and honestly the '23 seems to ride better and also is quieter. I also noticed the 10sp in the '23 with the updated shifting programming is a significant improvement over the '21. Overall I'm much happier with the 23 than the 21.  I hope this helps.

I have a 22 LTZ ltd.

I also have a 23 High Country 6.2.

When I get in the 22 after driving the 23 all day , It feels like going back in time to the 14 -18 chevys. Glad my wife drives the 22, she could care less😂.

I'd get the new Chevy.

I agree to but, that is where everyone I saw before the refresh wanted it because Ford and Dodge were that way.

With that said. I'd go for the Chevy since it's new and under full warranty without paying for an extended warranty at this time.

I would buy the new RST IMHO. You don't want somebody's old truck. $54.000 is a killer deal for the RST with the 6.2, leather and the rest. Don't get hung up about the dash or the shifter. Its a truck. Now is a great time to buy a truck. There are way too many $85.000 + trucks for sale right now. Get that new RST + a new dirt bike and put $20.000 in the bank.

I already have a new dirt bike which is why I need a truck but I like where your heads at!
