Happy new year. New Resolution? We’ll just continue last year’s. Change Eating Habits, 30lbs lost so far. Keep up an old one exercise 4-7k steps a day. I’ll add one I started half way through last year. No more advice to the younger generation unless they ask. It’s frustrating but if they don’t ask they don’t listen. I don’t want to be that guy anymore. Teach them to fish, don’t give them the fish. Applies with everything.

IMO, keep advising as well as demonstrating through actions.  They are listening.  My father died 24 years ago and I often wish I could have 5 min alone with him now to tell him how well I listened!  You don't fully value the wisdom of old people until you're old.  This year I will strive to do a better job of helping my kids appreciate the context of my "advice".  We joke about our age related decline but seldom talk about the impact this stage has on your values, priorities and state of mind.

My father was a physical specimen. Excelled in everything sports related. His strength was amazing. He didn’t handle declining well. His brothers were very competitive all worked for him in NJ. He tied his well being to success. An uncompromising leader. Starting over in Texas was amazing to watch and be a part of. His hobby was work. We worked all the time. I work along side of him. I learned a lot by watching. The good and bad. You didn’t question anything. When he couldn’t work anymore he just waited to pass. I’m surprised he made it to his 80s. He wouldn’t go to the doctor. I learned what not to do as well as what to do. I never met a person so sure of himself.

We used to host New Year for the family. Finally I said someone else needs to step up. I don’t want to stay up that late. Now my son does it. The down side is his wife’s family comes too. I guess I can put up with them for a few hours.

Happy New Year Everyone! I'm not sure if I'll be up that late tonight.

There was a bottle of non alcoholic delta 9 wine at the gathering. I only found out later at the hospital what that was. We didn’t have a glue. All we knew was my wife became silly and couldn’t stand up or lift her arms. After eating and drinking some of that wine. Later after the doctor asked what she had they realized what happened. And after arriving she started to come around. My daughter in law’s sister gave her this non alcoholic wine she really didn’t know what else was in it. Waiting to be discharged.

Hemp normally contains no THC so these are THC INFUSED? How’s that even legal in Texas ? Guess it’s just under Federal THC max like CBD crap.

Sorry for the effect on the wife Stan. Know she has other physical issues and serving this to her was really a shame.

Disconnecting from a jerk of a ****** that has decided she now has to come down off the cross so glad she’s being ejected. Sadly she went around last week to all our friends pooping on my reputation. Hopefully the more she sad sacks the more friends realize I’m not Frankenstein. Got a new JCB 3XC backhoe delivered this past week with a 14’ snow blade 0% financing, 5 year/5000 free service warranty is my crowning achievement for the year.

My wife was almost normal by the time we got home at 1:30. As we’re finding out she seems to be quite sensitive to normal pain of getting older. We do use hemp rubs for muscle and joint pain along with other pain relief rubs. As far as the delta 9 infused wine. It was a new experience for all who tried it at the family New Years event. My wife and daughter in law were the only ones who drank it. I looked it up while at the hospital. And txab supplied the same information I found. I’m not against the product use, didn’t have a clue what it was or effects. My wife was aware of something hemp related was in the wine. Probably should have been more cautious about trying something new without at least looking it up. Especially being on medication. It didn’t affect my daughter in law at all. I hope she learned that hosting an event to be aware of what she serves. Especially to older attendees not knowing what medications they’re taking. My daughter was with me at the hospital and got really angry at the daughter in law. I had to pull her back and ask her not to express that towards her sister in law. Don’t want a family feud. I think my wife is claiming more responsibility to eliminate any hard feelings. This stuff is legal and available at any liquor store around here.

A friend's wife got some CBD gummies to help her with a few things. First batch she got worked fine. She tried a different brand, supposed to be the same thing. Guess not. Those things through her for a loop, whatever was inside them. She's only getting the same brand as original from now on
