What Did You Pay? For Your Brand New Silverado/sierra? (new Only)

the certificates are things that dealers give out to buyers. they say they have a certain amount given to them by GM and they are worth 250 a piece. You can have up to 4 = 1000 bucks

So when going into a dealer, do I just ask if they have any??

Ben, were you just straight up telling the dealer you were at the offer you had at the other dealership? The last time I bought a new car was about 4 years ago and at that time it was foreign so they could care less if they had the best deal or not. I told one dealer I had a better deal I wanted matched and they told me to just leave and go get it.

Are dealers different this day in age now? Economy that bad? Gm wants to sell that bad? Just some questions I have before I go back to the GMC dealer. I guess I will start below invoice with my offer and looks like they will do me good on trade hopefully.

Anyone else got any tips??

All I can say is I got ripped! lol. But my truck was delivered to me from New Orleans and I got 0% for 5 years. So I'm pretty happy about it cause in 5 years it's paid off regardless.

No, I told the dealer I wanted the cheapest price they could sell it for, they came back with 28,500. I said ok, I called another dealer that I had found a truck that was a little too expensive and gave him the VIN of the new truck. He called me back two minutes later and said "I've got the same truck for 26,400. I told the dealer I was at that ........and so on and so on until they started throwing in extras and the other dealer finally said he couldn't go any lower than 23,900 with the extras, I said I will see you in a few. The dealer I was at said "What!?, why would you go there, I said "He gave me his lowest price." They gave me a final offer for 23,400 with all the extras and a $500 visa card. I called the other dealer and he said he couldn't do it, I thanked him, he said no problem.

P.S. DON'T EVER BUY GAP INSURANCE THROUGH A DEALER!!! IT IS THE BIGGEST WAIST OF MONEY. IF YOU ARE WORRIED ABOUT IT, YOUR AUTO INSURANCE COMPANY WILL SELL IT TO YOU FOR LIKE 5 BUCKS A MONTH. THEN AFTER YOU ARE NOT UPSIDEDOWN, CANCEL IT.

Bought a 2007 Gmc Crew cab Z71 4x4 5.3

Yes truck was brand new, purchased on Nov. 18th, 2008, with 300 miles on it, delivery to dealership and test drives.

Sticker on the truck was $38,400. Has every option except for sunroof, leather, nav., and rear entertainment.

Got truck for $25,900. Dealership gave me $1200 over what my old truck was worth, that alone convinced me to buy the truck b/c the trade in market at that time was in the dumps...

I shopped around where I live, I could not touch a truck similar to what I bought for anything near that price...

What kind of tests and adaptions did they have to do for French roads?
