Thanks, thats what I needed to know, I read most of that post before I bought the wheel but I guess I missed that part....Oh well guess it's time to start saving up for the nav screen now.

I was going to go that route as well until I found the radio I needed for like $40.

Do you know the PN of the radio you bought?

Did the steering wheel swap on my 2010 LT ebony interior w/ cruise and brushed steel spokes. Bought a wheel from a 09 w/ ebony spokes and radio controls. I wanted the brushed steel spokes on my new wheel so I swapped the spokes from my old wheel to my new one which was pretty simple just had to remove a few torque screws and pop out the spokes. Everything works perfect and the whole job took about a hour from start to finish, would have took about 10 min. if I didnt want to swap the spokes. For reference if you have ebony interior and want the brushed stainless(silver) spokes the part # is 25853070 if you want ebony spokes the part # is 25853068.

Question, will a MY08 2500 steering wheel with radio controls fit/work on a MY09 1500? Look the same to me.

Yes.

I figured, thanks. I'm digging the Black spokes over the silver poo.

For those of you that have installed the controls, does the volume buttons light up at night? Only the top buttons light up, not the volume up and down buttons on mine. I want to see if everyone else's is the same way.

Thanks-

My controls were factory installed.. and I don't believe my volume switches have lights.

I think I have a record. Steering wheel was at the door when I got home from work, THANKS SCHRAM!!!!!!!!! Tools? A long allen wrench to pop the airbag off, my fingers to disconnect the airbag and steering wheel controls plug (I just had cruise control, but same plug for the new wheel, runs to both sides) and if I remember right, a 21mm socket to remove the steering wheel nut. No wheel puller required. Oh yeah, 10mm to remove the battery connection.

I've had my wheel off a few times, so that took about 2 minutes to pull after disconnecting the battery.

Threw the NEW one on, part number 15917931, it's a part number for a 08 2500, but works like a charm on my 09 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT. All buttons work, and lights up.

I know its a bit off topic but I got the idea from this thread. I purchased a wheel for my wifes 2010 Acadia installed it and the controls dont work. All the buttons light up but do not function. Any ideas?

I would jump on it in a heartbeat, but we replaced her steering wheel already with a silver carbon fiber one from APSIS.
