Just clocked 216 miles on the Odometer Just had new tires put on at discount. They took my duratracs for trade. I knew the first test drive that tires would be the first thing to go. 295-70-18 Michelin defender LTX M/S Stock suspension Custom Trail Boss. Not even close to rubbing anywhere. More stuff coming today2 points

Right out of warranty would be 66K. Almost 10K doubtful. If you’re a frequent flyer and bought multiple vehicles their and use their service department. Maybe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

They are nice. I have them in both my 18's. Do yourself a favor and get them installed by a pro. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk2 points

For those DIYers...I know join the club of those who have replaced the old flooded cell battery. I also believe the engineers at GM to be sadistic. I’ve never had to remove so much crap just to be able to remove a battery, for Fox Creek...On the bright side, I did spring for an AGM, and it is smaller in size1 point

There's no 12V power in that connector, you have a basic mirror, that connector is for the windshield temp and interior humidity sensor, leave it alone1 point

I agree and I hope you didn't read anything negative in my suggestion. I would not hesitate to ask my dealer to meet me half way (Op's first post request) if I had a comparable issue. I would not be shocked if they said yes. The crux of my comment was centered around using the expired warranty as justification for asking to meet halfway. This makes a "no" response too easy. I make a point of having any concerns documented on a work order whenever I have my truck in for service. If the clunk I heard periodically during warranty morphs into a problem post warranty, my dealer has my concern on file. Op says he had reported related concerns prior to the expiration of his warranty and I am confident this is where he will find the basis for any reduction in repair costs.1 point

He’s not asking for anything out of the ordinary, he’s got a point. These forums are beginning to get more and more negative. Let’s not focus on the negatives but rather assisting him on positives. Seems to me he’d get an answer either way, he’s already at a negative so either we help him or say nothing at all. I’d try and reason with the dealership and if say it’s out of their hands and refusing to assist then write up a very negative review especially considering with all the negatives publicity GM is currently going through for the exact issues. Speaking with the GM of the dealership may help too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Welcome to the forum! Time for a center console swap! My RST has the factory center console with the two cup holders and the little "3rd" cup holder between them (think red bull can size) Remember there are two additional cup holders in the rear of the center console (for back seat passengers, but you can use them) If you don't want to do that, I think there are storage solutions that sit on the transmission tunnel between the dash and the seats.1 point

It’s a washed out grey in music on every screen I’ve seen. The main screen was my main gripe being so washed out. the screen isn’t too bright for me so that’s not an issue here.1 point

Let me hop on the PC and post some screen shots. What I mean is if you change the downshift table up 5 MPH, you will also want to change the upshift table. If at 25% throttle you command a downshift below 20 MPH in a given gear (and say it was 15 - that will make it downshift “easier”) if your upshift was 21 MPH that would make a fast downshift and shift right back up. I would bump the upshift up about the same amount, at least a few MPH. I have mine set up to stay in a low gear for MPH. Mid range has a reasonable downshift without having to stab the throttle to the floor. I also adjusted downshift times, but beware that if you jump on it in the middle of a downshift it will always lag there so just keep that in mind. I also setup tow/haul to be more of a sport mode. I don’t tow. The reality is there isn’t a lot different between the two. I do leave more negative off throttle/low throttle driver demand in tow mode in case I do tow. I keep my converter locked too, I don’t see what people dislike about it. I actually prefer that over having it flash up on me. I also did adjust my TCC apply pressure, so maybe that is why I don’t notice issues too. If I don’t post back up by the end of the day, PM me to remind me. This PC does an update about every time I turn it on and I lose the network and it takes forever to restart. Windows 7 was great, 10 sucks lol1 point

Those are all in shift scheduling. Downshift MPH vs. TPS. For now, I would leave WOT tables alone and in the normal tables leave 100% alone. Also make sure you tweak the upshift if you make big moves on the downshift. You don’t want to make the transmission hunt between gears.1 point

If you’re enjoying your truck, check your odometer mileage when purchased, may have had a couple thousand on it already, fix it and try to get a good deal either through the dealership or independent shop, whichever makes you happier. If not, sell it or just trade it in! Currently, GM (as others) is in a massive lawsuit with consumers for their knowingly selling vehicles with faulty transmissions. As of today, each and every manufacturer out there has been pushed to the outer limits by the EPA and trying to out do each other, no guarantee any manufacturer will be problem free, those old days are gone as we now live in a disposable world. If you’ve got geico or another insurance, they may have an added protection plan available that would 100% cover it. There are a couple good aftermarket companies out there that could help with breakdowns, your service department would know their names. A buddy of mine bought a new Raptor last year, been in the shop 6 times for the same over heating issues and seal issues in door when it rains. He paid $80 plus custom work to it. Now a days, new is a crap shoot, may be better off just fixing it and keeping it as you know your truck. Just remember, ALL the manufacturers are concentrated on profits over quality, all of them! 6-speed or 8-speed? If it is the 8-speed a fluid exchange may help as the factory fill fluid is hydroscopic and slowly absorbs water which will cause torque converter issues.1 point

Haha I knew that coming !! It's actually mud and snow rated. But yeah Love the big truck look but don't like the roar of all terrain or mud terrain tires. Spend 99% of my time running up and down the highway.1 point

On my parents 2000 blazer it was just past the 36 month (37) warranty and was well under the milage. Their 4wd system went out. GM ended up covering half the cost Ryan B.1 point

WTF? They must have used different sensors and harnesses in those attached to a 5.3, or the torque of the 6.2 causes problems in these electronic parts (LOL). Those with the 5.3 have the same issue. SMDH. It's probably because most of the 6.2L are in Denalis and those are the high margin trucks. Keep the smaller, high margin customer base happiest. From my perspective, they gaslighted me (and countless others) on the transmission issues until I was out of powertrain warranty, but then they are happy to charge hundreds to thousands to do what they wouldn't under warranty. Service advisors who lie to my face about what a procedure involves or that these trucks don't have a trans fluid filter. They just assume everyone that comes in the door is an idiot, but they need to start accepting that more information than ever is available online. I'll fix it myself even if I only save $100 just to not reward their scammy behavior. This was linked in another thread, but I would recommend this video for a how-to: As he states in the video, the harness part # is 24298757. I'd also recommend a filter TF922. The pan gasket is supposed to be reusable but is part # 24260071 if you want to replace that.1 point

I towed my trailer yesterday an hour away to drop off at it’s new home, and then immediately ordered the GMPE exhaust when I got back. Not going to be dealing with this much longer now lol1 point

I'm not sure how i managed to get both the front and back pictures blurry haha, i was in a rush. Here's looking down the front driver side to see how far the wheels are sticking out: And here's the rear, i didnt manage to get the image dead on where i wanted, but its still easy to tell that the rear is sucked in far too much. This is inside one of the front wheels, shows what they did with the cables and whatnot. And they forgot to install the skid plate, i went back later and they put it on: Rear shocks were upgraded to Fox 2.0's, fronts are still the rancho shocks from the Z71 package. Will i notice much of a difference if i upgrade these too?1 point

Detail guy had for two days to do the Ceramic coating and had them remove the Trail Boss decals.... My god this thing shines now. Pics don't do it justice. He also must have coated the running boards. I almost killed myself getting in. lol Gonna take another look over the weekend. Came out amazing though.1 point

Neighbors are thinning their flower beds and I'm am benefiting. Hosta's, Black Eyed Susan. Easy care, easy wear plants I can actually handle. Digging in a new Hosta bed today in an area that has to much shade to support health grass. Good by me. More plants, less grass to mow. Reviving an older bed I have used as the grass clippings area the last few years. Makes really good dirt. We did okay with tomatoes this year so maybe add something else next year in that area. Fall is coming early. No end of yard projects. But man, best the yard has looked in decades.1 point

I just don't see why people buy a disabler to turn it off just a waste of money when you can just press the button on the dash and turn it off. I got into the habit of starting the truck moving hand to the right and pressing the button down to turn it off. Yeah you have to do it on every restart but so what. When you start the truck 98% of the people go for the radio controls so what's the difference? Good thing some of these people didn't live back in the day where you had to physically turn your head lights on. When I drive the Traverse or the Equinox I get in put it low and press the button to shift up to 9 in the Traverse or 6 gear in the Equinox and I go on my way that disables the auto stop in those vehicles. No big deal.1 point

If you want ride quality, go Denali no question. It is the best riding pickup truck I have ever been in, including the new Ram.1 point

No, maybe not, but then again, daily drivers can't really compete in a contest with show trucks that have hundreds of thousands of dollars invested. Huge difference in the WOW factor there when comparing pictures. Also, not everyone likes the jack it up to the sky look on big wheels with thin tires. Not for me, I don't like it, can't stand it myself, but doesn't stop me from appreciating someone else's style and taste and complimenting them on their hard work, time, and money invested into a showroom quality build. And even if I wanted to try and compete, I've been working 80+ hours a week right now - so my truck is a filthy little.....thing, was going to say something else. ? It'd win in a dirtiest truck contest right now. ? I REALLY need to give it a foam cannon treatment.... I seem to be all work and no play right now. Just barely squeezed in enough time the other night to do a fresh oil change - wait I just did that like last month or before that.....man I drive way too much. Maybe next time around, or maybe when there's a black truck month, or I'll just wait until like 4-5 people I know have already won first. ?1 point

That has nothing to do with the adjustable pedals they removed. The pedals move forward and back, not closer or further apart. The reason they probably got rid of the feature is barely anyone actually used it or knew about it. Most would set it once (like myself) and never touch it again because the seat would do pretty much the same thing. I would rather the money be saved or spent somewhere else. Tyler1 point

Do you wonder how you would access your truck if your battery is dead or even how you would access your spare tire? Your key fob has a spare key inside of it where the key ring is. Push the button on the side of your fob and pull up. You will pull out the spare key which works for your spare tire as well as access your truck if battery dies.1 point
