Turning-popping Noise

About a month ago, I pulled into a driveway with the wheels cut hard to the left. I just "bumped" over the normal driveway curb and it made a god-awful pop. I was, maybe, going 1/2 mph. Now, on sharp turns at every speed I can feel a "thump" or a "pop" coming from the lower left front wheel. I can almost feel it thru the floorboard. I first thought it may be a tie rod end, but nothing visual is out of the ordinary. I tried to have my girlfriend turn the wheel while I watched but could never duplicate it. It now does it on almost every turn. Could it still be a tie rod end, without being noticeable without jacking the truck up and physically inspecting it? It was almost a freek deal. Everyday driving occurance just caught on the wrong angle I guess.

I also posted about a "whooshing" noise upon hard acceleration through my exhaust and never got any input. I cut the cat off and added a dynamax muffler and ever since it makes the noise.

Jack the truck up by the lower control arm & check for any play by grabbing the wheel at 12 & 6 o'clock, then & 3 & 9 o'clock. Prybar works better for the up & down motion (12 & 6). You could have a bad ball joint, in which case you'll need to change that out soon as it is a safety issue.

The exhaust noise your going to probably have to live with, as it is now flowing far more than stock. That's the price we pay for horsepower! :jester:
