good choice... are you looking to get a 13' or a 14' 2500? if you could wait a few more months you should be able to get a killer deal on a 900 2500.

IDK yet. I may buy a beater car for a few months to see what kind of deals pop up. I've read about a few vibration issues between 65-70mph and somewhere said '14 did something to help combat it. From what I've read sounds like tire issues but again, IDK. Have you had any issues? I also need to see what's different between 2500 and 3500 besides payload capacity. Looks like towing capacity is similar.

Constant vibrating or while on the brakes? I wonder if the factory was suppose to put the hydraulic cab cushions/mounts but didn't. I think those were meant to solve some kind of vibration issue

@ 35, 45,55, and 65. Vibration in the seat and gas and brake pedal @ theses speeds. New u-joints, drive line balanced, tires road force balance. Torque converter check. The bad thing is that it is not all of the time. It is baffling them.

Everything in the bottom of the trans is fine except there some pretty bad wear on the 2nd gear check plate which directs fluid. The bearings wore right through it and it is to the 2nd gear part of the tranny SOO he's getting the part tomorrow if its in stock and we will know.

thats not a bad idea... i wouldnt own a diesel if i didnt have a econo car as a DD. i dont have any issues with the vibration problems.. you also have to remember that the people complaining on a forum about specific problems is only a very small percentage of the people who own those vehicles. i have not heard of any 14's with the issue. only 13's down. also, obviously make sure you bring the truck up to 60-80 on the test drive to be sure it dosent have it.

the only difference is leaf springs... no reason to get the 3500 with a stiffer ride unless your actually towing 10k plus.

you should be able to get a killer deal on a loaded up 14 when the 15's come out... just like the 14' 1500's, you wont be able to get even an OK deal for a long time..

So no complete rebuild to strengthen that turd of a tranny?

He's being a bit blunt but he's right. With the bigger tires and the dune visits you need to do something to strengthen the trans otherwise the next break may be catastrophic. A rebuild on a non-blown trans will be cheaper than one that has scattered parts.
