Just did mine last week in my 08 Duramax.  About ready to turn over 200,000 miles.  I change it about once a year (starting this year since I just got the truck last year)

Mine is a road princess and only hauls my fat butt around so filter probably won't get that dirty.  Then again I have taken the air compressor to it a few times in the last couple years so maybe mine would have been that black after 10 years.  The air filter changing routine seems to have just as many opinions as oil does lol.  I only replaced it just b/c I figured after a decade it was time.  If only I could get the damn shake problem fixed there'd be a chance of the truck sticking around for another decade.

Been having an unseasonable winter here. I’m not complaining. Had a good snow storm in December and really just rain since. Been able to keep my truck clean. Only a matter of time I feel that it’s gonna get cold [emoji3063]

^Around 60 here today, but rain and snow the next few days, so I passed on cleaning the truck and was outside with my daughter and the dog most of the afternoon.

Had the tires road force balanced.  I guess I'll find out if it helped when I drive to Vero, might end up buying yet another set of tires.  Put 15 gallons of diesel in it on the way home.  Did a half attempt at cleaning the interior.  Put the bed cover back on and gave Fatty a bath.  Didn't do the tires and now that I think of it I forgot to do the running boards.  Also walked around the lots at the dealer while getting the tires RF.  Not many Ford or Ram duallies sitting on those 2 lots.  Was tempted to bother someone for a test drive but I don't want to even consider the top trim levels from anyone.

Rerouted the Illuminated Bow Tie harness on my truck this morning, before going to work.  I didn't like the way I ran it when I installed it a few weeks ago. ? When I tore it apart, I found out that I had to do some wire repair, too, both the white and the black wire had chaffed a little. ? I originally had the union between the two halves "clipped" to the truck frame, and later decided that if anyone takes off the grill and didn't realize it was done that way, they could easily damage either the light or the connector.  Found a video, this last weekend, while I was sick ?, that ran the main part of the harness along the same route with the hood release. ? Took photos of the original route and the new route, will post them when I get home from work tonight, or before I go to work tomorrow afternoon.

Originally drilled the 3/8" hole dead-center, but had to work it down/left to line it up correctly.

Original path that I ran the harness:

Zip tied the two wires to the "struts" just left of center:

Rerouted the harness thru top of left headlight assembly and across the top of the grill:

Now, I can easily disconnect the illuminated bow tie before removing the grill, next time:

Looks like yours turned out quite nice. I considered doing that on mine, but the bowtie didn't sit quite as nice in the grille, and the LED surround looked odd with the halogen lighting everywhere else on the front end.

Body shop had the beast for 2 and a half weeks back in November. Got him back and the fender looked odd, I figure whatever I can massage it out. Get home and find paint damage...that's odd. Go back to the shop the first week of December, 3 days after I got him back, and they say sure we'll repaint it. I figure ok, no big deal.

Yeah. Right.

Get home, look closer at the paint damage, and it looks like there's rust underneath. That can't be good. So I figure they are repainting it, let's see what's underneath.

Big ol' rust spot from their botched previous repair, a shitload of bondo, and the fender itself is wanked pretty good. Looked like somebody had tried to weld it at some point. Raised holy hell with USAA and the contacted the shop. Shop told USAA no biggie,  just a repaint. Their tone changed when I took it down again (after my digging). Office lady said wow there is a lot of filler on there. YEAH NO SHIT

Take him back in right before Christmas, they are very quiet. Owner's not clued in, she says that afternoon I should have him back. Rest of the shop is like noooooo going to be a few days.

Day after Christmas I get him back, wow looks much better. Get to thinking, I check the rear of the fender right under the FM antenna...huh the paint defect from their 17 repair is gone.

Turns out they replaced the fender. Much happier with that, it will do better long term. That and me avoiding reflector poles and wildlife.

Middle of January I took some me time, and got some truck service time in. New radiator, condenser, radiator hoses, thermostat, headlights (right one had a busted mount crudely glued on by the shop), new grille, new fogs and fog bezels, new bumper spoiler, skid plate and filler panel, new wheels, tires, center caps, and new forward lighting. Took me 8 days, but totally worth it. AC works again, no DexCool smell every time I walk by the right front, and the trans fluid tends to run cooler cause the fins on the cooler aren't crammed with dead bugs.

145k and counting. Trans service in 6k, can't wait. New GM fluid again, and I think the valve body could use a re-torque.

If you're referring to mine, thanks.  Not bad for using an antique "eggbeater drill" to drill the initial hole and to use a drill saw, with some keyhole hacksaw use.

There is a "stored in barn for years Late C3 15 miles from me. Hasn't run in 5 years, busted TH400, carbed mystery SBC. So might be doing a lot in the garage soon if they will answer my texts.

Maybe take some tools, try to rig a bottle of gas I.V. style(gravity feed) to the carb and see if it will start?

Drove down to the county permitting/annoying govt crap office and the sheriffs department substation.  Also removed my A119 V2 dash cam and installed the a119 V3 dash cam.  Mounted this one a little higher up maybe the heat reflecting off my sun shield thingie won't hit this one as much.  Maybe when this one dies 4k dash cams tech will be better.

Up to 146,600 and counting

Lumbar section on the driver's seat got stuck. Wouldn't trip at all. In a random shot in the dark I grabbed the bottom of the seat back and gently tugged towards the front of the truck.

Wouldn't you know it, it works just like new. Now if I could find the sweet spot for my seat it wouldn't be a problem lol
