2001 Tahoe: ABS light + Traction Control light

Recommended Posts

I have a 2001 Tahoe with approx 240,000miles on it. Been a great car so far but here recently the ABS light and traction control light has been coming on and the brakes havent been working properly.

First, if you turn the car off then back on, the ABS light will stay on until I reach approx 5-10mph then it will go off.

If I hit a bump or a dip in the road, the traction control light will come on for approx 3-5 seconds then usually goes out. If its a big bump or dip then both the traction control and the ABS light will come on and stay on...until you turn the car off and then the whole process starts over.

Here recently, I've noticed that the brakes (seems like the driverside front) will sputter when applied and not work properly. If I let off the brake pedal and then press it again, most of the time they will work properly. This has been happening more and more as of late and Im afraid it will get to the point where I have no braking ability.

Any suggestions would be appreciated...
