DIC Question

Alright, When I bought my Sierra back in April, I noticed that it did not come with a DIC. I asked the dealer to order it and have it put in. He later came back and said that it would not be possible because I have the SLE and the SLE dash is different from the other models.

My truck is actually almost Identical to the Project Sierra ( http://www.gm-trucks...project-sierra/ ) Minus the convenience package. I have already ordered a new steering wheel to add the radio controls and I would like to add the DIC.

If you notice.. in the Project Sierra the DIC is on the right side, rather than the left in most other models.

I haven't been able to find anything about adding in a DIC in the SLE model... I am even wondering if my truck is wired for the DIC?

Thanks for all the help in advance.

I know that the SLT has it on the right side of the steering wheel. :jester:

Look up and order the dash trim piece and the switch from a truck having it on the right hand side and swap out these pieces with what you have. It will ne plug-and-play.

ok Here is what i noticed. if you have the truck interior (jump seat center console) it will be on the left. if you have the center console that runs clear to the dash and two bucket seats it will be on the right.

Any help as to where I could look that up at? The only thing I have been able to find is the panel that fits the left side...

Alright, I have found the Switch... but I cant find the dash trim piece to save my life...

I see that it is #5 on the diagram, but its not listed with the rest of the parts...it skips from 4 to 6.

found the one you are looking for in gmpartsdirect , its part # 17 in the diag , go to there catalog and under body hardware look in the parts diag (all 117 of them ) for your dash picture then just double click on the picture , there is 5 of them listed with different finishes and they range from $60 to almost $90

Thank you for all the great information fellas. It appears that with the addition of the All Terrain package, the interior of these trucks were upgraded to the SLT interiors.
