You people are insane. Any paint that got onto the friction surface would be gone the first time she tapped the brakes at the end of the driveway. And since pads wear any paint particles would be gone in short order as well. By the idiot logic some of you used I guess if the truck sits for a few days and you get some rust on the rotor friction surface you'd better drop everything and get new rotors and pads.

Yep. Your "theory" about that paint degrading performance is absurd. Brake rotors get incredibly hot under normal use and anything on them that shouldn't be would be cooked off within one or two applications of the brakes.

I hate red trucks, especially w/ red callipers. Kidding! My last truck was a '99 red Sierra, although the callipers were a lovely rust color

I like it, what brand caliper paint did you use? The monsterous calipers on my F150 (red) show through the wheels, I was going to just do black but red looks nice. My Yukon is dark blue so they will stay black. I'll have to check back with how the paint is holding up in about a month of Michigan winter driving

it is a rust preventing heavy machinery paint, like the stuff they use on tractors, bulldozers etc has high resistance to heat as well
