Drove a Q70 today. It's a sizable car. I liked it, but you can definitely tell it's related to a Nissan.

I finally saw another new Nissan Titan out in the wild today and it was pulling a trailer. It was black so it hid it's size very well, these look better in person.

Went to a student luncheon today for school. Really enjoyed it. Made me excited to get started in a few weeks.

Nissans are great for DIY'ers - need to go to the dealer to get codes cleared from the ECM. If not, the procedure is absolutely ridiculous, and will have you pulling your hair out if you don't have a stopwatch. What a joke! I wouldn't take one if it were given to me ...

It's not about how much you can tow. It's about how much you can tow safely, and follow the ratings and rules.

I was being scarastic. I guess you missed my thread when the Titan came out how the "nearly HD truck" had ratings barely over half tons.

Another barrel of fun over here. Replaced 15' of rear brake line on a '99 F-350 Powerstroke, from the ABS unit under the left headlight, all the way back to the rear axle. Had to yank the airbox/battery tray contraption Ford designed in order to reach it. Found some critters living in there too ...

 

Truck is not long for this world. 181k on it. Both seat latches broken, so you have to stand on the edge of the rocker (gone - all rotted away) inside the cab, and hold the seat back back, so you can sit. Luckily it's a regular cab, so the seat will hit the cab before you're looking at the ceiling when you hit the throttle. Has plexiglass rear window, oil pan loaded with JB weld, and the bed rotted right off the truck. Starting to develop the famous Ford tick, thanks to rotted exhaust manifolds. There are things that sort of resemble bolts there - ain't coming out with a socket, that's for sure.

 

Also had a locked up right front brake caliper - pins were bone dry, pistons stuck, and bleeder stripped. Gave it a whole new caliper and bracket, plus pads and a new rotor. On the driver's side I mickey moused it by just wire-wheeling and greasing the pins, wire wheeling and lubing the clips, and slapping some pads in. Really should've got a rotor, but like I said - one more plowing winter and this thing will be in the scrap heap.

 

Finally, fixed the return line leak. Ford baffles me with their engineering. They take a stainless steel return line, send it through these odd fittings (sort of like a spring lock, but not ...) and then form the rest out of cheap steel that rots in half. I tried to remove the safety clip from the fitting, & the line was in 2 pieces before I knew it. Just ran some 30R7 hose and clamped it on after cutting the line with a tubing cutter that just BARELY fit between the high pressure line and lower radiator hose.

 

Fun times, lemme tell ya!

Sounds like whomever owns this vehicle has more of an issue than just the brake seized up and what not, they need a whole new vehicle lol
