I just tried the 9011's in my 14 SLT and they are a little brighter but no where near what I consider OK, nor no where near my old stock '11 GMC. So I ordered the Mopar Elite low 35w 9012 kit from TRS. Will take me 1-2 weeks to get it put in. Will let you all know the results.

Plug and play bulbs? What's this?

OK well, aside from the mentioned "snipping" ; its essentially plug and play. No whiter tho which stinks.

Because you plan to install the fx-r projectors, I believed that they take only d2s bulbs, so you probably want to check with morimoto to see which bulb wiring kit you will need.

Let me just this straight, I just ordered a DDM 5k HID kit for my truck, if I want the vled fogs to match I would need to get the 6k LEDs?

This a great thead thanks to all those who have contributed. Purchased a 15 Chevy 2500 HD LT3 CC/SB a couple weeks ago and after having DDM on my 06 2500, nearly the same day I ordered the same setup; Capacitor, 35W slim line and 6k bulbs. I have looked at the schematic some one did but it didn't seem to work for me. Attached is a pic of what I have for a setup. I have tried reversing the polarity on before and after the capacitor. Nothing has worked. I am sure it's user error but I could use some help. The only way I see it going together is the OEM harness to capacitor, to ballast to light. Am I missing some thing?

Is the kit 35W or 55W? If it is 55W then I believe that you can order the LED bulb in the same K (so 5K) to match the HIDs. If the HIDs are 35W then I believe that you will need the 6K LED to match the HID

Thanks for the help.

You're missing a relay wiring harness. See diagram attached to post #1 of this topic.

Ok, so to be clear, if you are ordering from DDM, you need the HID harness along with your bulb choice, ballast choice and error eliminators?

Plan on waiting a lifetime from DDM. I ordered on April 10th and still don't have them. I called on Friday and was told the woman put in a request to find out where my order is and told me to wait 3 business days. They said I can't cancel an order after it was shipped, so if they don't have an answer tomorrow then I will have my bank cancel the payment to them. Last time I ordered it too 2 weeks, that was 3 years ago.

***Update***

Called DDMTuning. They are supposedly putting another request to the USPS to find out where my order is and a manager will call me later tonight to tell me what happened "because they want me to know they care" according to the woman. She put blame on Customs in China due to the Malaysia aircraft that was lost. The USPS said "that is an aweful thing to put blame on, there are no such facts to show that the Malaysia flight is affecting any shipments through customs."

I am currently on hold with USPS, as far as they can tell the package was prepped for shipment but never given to China Post or whoever controls shipment overseas. I am in the middle of being transferred to International customer service.

To be honest, this is my 5th purchase from DDM and all have taken ages to recieve packages. Over a month after pay $27 for shipping is rediculous. I plan to cancel the order tonight, whether it be through DDM or cancelling it with my credit card.

Guess its time for another brand :(

Alright guys, my morimoto kit was delivered yesterday and I put it in today. Ordered the relay kit and the error eliminators. Got everything ran and nothing. I had power and good ground. Single input harness so drivers stock plug obviously is not plugged into anything like the diagram on page one. So I swapped capacitors and still nothing. So I pulled the capacitor out and it turned on , but buzzed. I flipped the plug on the passenger. So for now I'm running no harness and I have the stock plugs into the capacitors then to the ballast. They work fine, but every now and then they would turn on and then one light will turn right back off. I can turn the lights off and then back on and the both come on and stay on. So am I missing something with why the harness is not working? Or why one bulb will turn off? Thanks guys!!

    • I’m definitely interested to hear the end result here.
    • My 2025 Silverado 1500 had to receive a brand-new engine (long block) under warranty last month at only around 16,500 miles. Before the replacement, the truck repeatedly displayed "Engine Oil Level Low" warnings, even though the Oil Life Monitor still showed around 50% remaining after about 6,000 miles since my last oil change. After seeing the warning several times, I checked the dipstick with the engine cold, and the oil level was completely normal. The next day, the message escalated to "Add Engine Oil." At first, I assumed it was just a faulty oil level sensor, so I brought the truck to the dealership. After inspecting the engine, they found internal cylinder wall scoring and ultimately replaced the entire long block under warranty. Before this happened, I was planning to install a 4-inch lift and suspension upgrade on my truck. After needing a new engine at just 16,500 miles, I honestly don't see the point anymore. I also contacted GM to ask whether my vehicle qualified for a buyback, but I was informed that it does not at this time. Anyway, this experience has left me with serious concerns about the long-term reliability of this engine. I sincerely hope NHTSA expands the current investigation or recall to include 2025 model and performs a thorough inspection of affected vehicles. My biggest concern is that these engines may fail shortly after the powertrain warranty expires. If GM truly stands behind this engine, then at the very least, please consider extending the powertrain warranty to 10 years for affected owners. That would go a long way toward restoring customer confidence.
    • Without exception but then I'm the odd duck, right? I know what goes into that test, how it is calculated and thus how to beat it. But EPA values are often not beaten by the general public and the government has in past years adjusted the means and methods to come to those values to more closely approximate "Joe Average".    The only real trick to beating that EPA average is don't drive like "Joe Average".    It's the same method you used to profit from "Economic Migration" and in doing so beat the 'stats'. But you, like me, are not "Joe Average".     The thing you don't seem to grasp is this "Purchasing Power Index" isn't forward looking. It doesn't predict what it going to be but looks backward and states what it was. They are not telling us what the THINK, they are telling us what they MEASURED. Example:    Wife says "I'm going to lose 40 pounds by Christmas". May she does, maybe she doesn't but the doctors office who weighed her when she made that statement and again at Christmas only REPORTS what the RESULT was. You and I can banter about what was possible and what aunt Tilly did till the cows come home but the result is the result. Arguing otherwise is.....irrational. That's all I'm saying. This isn't about:      What you are calling a 'Statistic' is a RESULT not a CALCUATION and as a result the RULE. Like gravity as a rule, it can not be broken.
    • Just wanted to say thank you for posting this. Years later, your thread is still helping Silverado owners.   I bought my 2025 Silverado 1500 in January 2025, and I've had what feels like the exact same rattle since day one. After reading your findings, I believe my truck has the same issue with the cable carrier contacting the rear sliding window. To be honest, I had pretty much given up on pursuing the issue. It wasn't until I recently drove another brand's pickup that I realized just how quiet their cabin was—and how noisy mine has been all along. On my truck, the rattle happens on almost any paved road, gets even worse on rougher pavement, and I can even hear it during braking and acceleration.   I actually referenced your thread when submitting my case to GM, hoping they'll recognize this as a recurring issue instead of treating it as an isolated incident. The reason I reached out to GM first is because my dealership told me they would need to keep the truck for at least two days just to diagnose the problem. I was concerned that even after two days, they still might not be able to identify the source of the rattle before giving the truck back to me. I had also asked a few dealerships about this issue during previous service visits, but none of them seemed to know what was causing it or had a solution. That's why I decided to contact GM directly first, hoping they might already have an official repair procedure or guidance for this issue.   I also hope GM eventually comes up with an official fix for this problem. I have a feeling there are many Silverado owners experiencing the same rattle, but most either choose to live with it or simply don't know what the cause is.   Really appreciate you taking the time to document your diagnosis. Your post is still making a difference years later.
