Here's another one.

What rear blocks are you using? It looks like it has a pretty big rake.

Can you grab some measurements off the front and rear fenders for us please.

It's not raked as much as it looks in the pic, must have been the way I was holding the camera. Anyway the rear blocks are 2 inch that replace the stock 1 inch blocks.

I really haven't noticed much of a difference mpg. I took it on a trip a few weeks ago and averaged 26 on the hwy. that's with stock tires though. I think I'm going to go with a 275/60/20 vs the 305/55/20, I'm hoping that with the 275's I can keep a narrow footprint and keep my mpg's.

Hey gentlemen and ladies I'm new to this forum.i have a 2010 crew cab silverado LT.i installed a 2 inch level kit on mine.then took it in for an alignment.everything worked out great I have 33 nitto grapplers on it.only thing I wasn't to happy about was.yes it was higher in front but it still wasn't leveled in my eyes.that was with 1 inch specer on lower strut.so I added a a half in spacer on top of strut and happy days.i did not realign but kept a good eye on tires. So far so good. So those of you installing level kits make sure you get kit with top and bottom spacers. Believe me you will be happy! Yes a little bumpy but we'll worth it.

Hey Guys...

Picked up my Sierra last week and absolutely love the truck and everything about it but notice the rear end sits higher than the front and I'm considering installing a levelling kit but have some questions:

1. Will it void my warranty?

2. Will parts wear out prematurely because of the kit?

3. Will it crush the gas mileage?

4. Will the overall ride be affected?

5. Will I need an alignment after?

6. Is it hard to install?, or best left to the pro's..

Seriously appreciate any replies...

Thank you,

Alan

No will not void warranty.. Just tell your service manager its been leveled..

. I'm waiting for bilstein to level over the spacers.

Ride with bilsteins will actually be better!.

Yes for alignment

Easy very easy installation

I did the 2 inch level to my at. The gas mileage suffered about a half of an mpg. But the truck sure does look better. Get a 1.5 or 2 inch

1. Don't think so.

2. Potentially over time. The only thing with grease fittings are the outer tie rod ends. Upper ball joints could see a bit of escalated wear over time, especially if you go more than a 2" level.

3. Minimal on the mileage

4. Don't think so.

5. Yes.

6. If its a leveling system like the Rough Country bottom strut spacer or Ready Lift top strut spacer, the strut does not need to be disassembled. The upper ball joint and maybe the sway bar link have to be moved.

When you level the truck, are you referring to raising the the front to match the rear or raising both. I personally would just like to lower the rear to match the front on mine.

I've thought about removing the 1.5" block from the rear, understanding I'll need new u bolts but I'm not sure that will achieve what I want or if there will be any issues by doing this.

    • I'd change the fluid and start there.   198F is nothing for the 8L90.  They typically operate 180-200F stock.
    • Looking for help!   2019 GMC Sierra 1500 - 5.3l 4x4 8l90 61k miles - truck is in Arizona, was over 110 outside on Monday when this whole situation transpired. Never had any major issues with transmission until this point:   Truck sat outside my construction office for approx 1 hour idling before I realized, ran around the job site wrapping some things up for the day and then left. Went to get food and sat in the drive through for approx 30 minutes idling. As soon as I pull out of the drive through and onto the main road, rear tires lock up and feels like transmission fell out of the truck. Shifted to park, shut the truck off and tried again, same thing happened. Was able to reverse into parking lot (truck slammed into reverse). Let the truck sit turned off for 10 minutes before trying again, but it continued to happen. Towed truck back to my house. Highest the trans temps reached was 198.   Friday, after work I start looking into the situation. Truck sat in my driveway untouched all week. Truck is now driving like normal, transmission doesn’t get over 185 degrees when trying to heat it up. Got up to 60 multiples times with no issues, no issues accelerating, only down shifted hard into first one time at 185 degrees. Does anyone have any insight? Never through a code or a check engine light. Truck has never been used to tow either. No transmission services at this point.
    • Atlas won.   I know better, but I did it anyway. I took a compressed air line with a chuck and rubber tip and jammed it in the open EGR port. The port was clear as far as I could see, and as far as I could poke with a flexible wire, but that doesn't mean it's not clogged.   Compressed air blew back at me along with a cloud of black. Oops. I didn't have the rubber tip seated in there all the way. Jammed it up in there some more and squeezed the chuck. PSI was set to 120. Poof! It blew back at me again. Third time...pfffffttssssssspffffffsssfffffff, face full of carbon, and then, kind of a thud..and the air stopped spraying back at me. It was now exiting the exhaust with a low shhhhhh sound as it flowed through the pipe. Something broke free. I pressurized the port again, and air flowed.   Made my day.   Long story short on this problem, it's fixed. Something was really blocking the EGR passages down low, and compressed air blew it apart. I don't recommend this as who knows what debris was sent where. But it's allowed me to move forward, mentally, and onto the next problems I need to get this little S-Blazer going down the road properly again.
    • Your truck lowered, looks good. I'm happy with the stance on this. I may need the extra ground clearance given my location/situation.
