I figured out the torque specs.

Upper ball joint, real tight (can't get a torque wrench in there). Found on the web it is supposed to be torqued to 34lbs

Upper strut bolts, real tight

Lower strut bolts, RC instructions specify 35lbs

Rear shock lower mount 64lbs, figured it out using my torque wrench

Rear leaf u-bolts, 34lbs, figured it out using torque wrench.

Also, found that I didn't need to remove the tie rod end from the spindle in the front and I didn't need to remove the shock from the lower mount when doing the rear.

Just installed my RC 2" level kit with my son it took 90 mins from complete start to finish.Make sure both wheel are up as then the sway bar will not fight you.when we did the last side all we had to do was drop the strut bolts and there was enough room to slide in the spacer.side 2 took 22 mins.First side was just over an hour.Use a ratchet strap to pull upper arm onto ball joint.Truck looks a thousands times better.

Thanks for the compliments. The truck still rides very nice. A little noisy from the tires. I did not use rear shock extensions. They don't come in the kit and I'm not sure it it's really needed with the Rancho shocks. I do get some rubbing on the front upper control arms in a hard turn left. Basically a wheel lock turn will rub pretty good. These tires are very wide on the stock 20" rims. But there is no rubbing on the shocks, wheel wells or mud flaps. Fuel mileage around town had gone done a little. I also purchased the Diablo i1000 from Lew at www.diablewtune.com to correct the speedo and get a custom tune after I do the data logging. I'm happy with the way everything came out.

How is the ride after the kit being installed? Nice video btw. Did you add a shock extensions in the rear?

I did the same lift but have a 3" Blocks in the rear for a little rack and no extensions.

Don't get 2.5.... I heard it can mess with the electric steering in the new trucks. I would get a 1.5 inch or 2 inch max. I have the 2 inch kit, I almost wish I would have gotten on the 1.5 inch. My truck sits about 1.5 inch higher in the back. I have the stock 275 tires, and will keep it that way

This is NOT true. I have the rough country 2.5" lift/level on my 2014 LTZ and there is no issues at all. Puts the front up 2.5" and puts the back up 1". It's on stock tires right now because of winter but I'll be putting on 295-40-24 tires on 24x10 ck 375 gm reps. The tires measure 33.3" tall by 11.6" wide. byququty.jpge6yqa5yn.jpg

Awesome Truck!!

I am looking to get a 2 inch level kit with duratrac 285/60/20 on stock wheels. Can someone give me some advice or let me know if they have seen this set-up before?

Will I need to get wheel spacers? What level kit do you recommend. I wanna try to keep the cost low. Thanks again!

New to level kits but need some advice. By reading most of the forums I would like to level with at least a 2 inch in the front of my 2014 Sierra.

So if the dealership or GM service will not install these, Who should I look for to do this in my area?

    • I find it amusing the OP doesn’t realize this threads heading includes several engines. He should have posted in the off topic section if he wanted a more narrow focus. I really appreciate and find amusing that he actually pointed out one of my many vehicles. The Odyssey. That happens to use 0-20 oil. I love pushing his buttons.
    • Maybe, but it seems he is the only one that has backed up data to prove what he is stating. I think he is doing this more because he enjoys it and wants to get the information out to us. He's got the knowledge and access to the proper equipment and having the funds doesn't hurt.  I would love to do what he is doing and would do it if and when I hit the Powerball.  I'm not a Tribologist by any means but love to learn what I can.   I would bet there would be doubting people out there if a completely independent lab with high quality work and highly respected in the automotive industry, put out information like this.  The world can't be pleased, one just has to take the information that they are given, do more of their own research to find actual lab data to back up what they are trying to figure/find out.  Most don't bother, they just want to believe what they first see.     I don't have the minimax but my 6.2 in my 2019 Silverado with 64k miles shows excellent UOA results with 0w-20 and for my own purposes 5w-20.  Since not much of a change using 5w. I liked the data sheet information on the SS 5w-20 and figured I would give it a try.  Still the same viscosity at 100℃.   In the end we all just do what makes us happy, life is too short to get upset over trivial social media.   On a side note, I do feel GM has dropped the ball and just cares about the bottom dollar and not quality anymore.  "Like a Rock" has been long gone.  Seems "Built Ford Tough" has as well.
    • Better than stock but that's like putting lipstick on a pig
    • Hello, my 3 month old Sierra Elevation wont recognize a trailer with electric brakes? All the lights work correctly, but no power to the brakes?   This is the factory installed brake controller. If you manually push the knob, the display shows the power % but does not light up like my 2022 silverado.   I have an appointment with the dealer, but was checking to see if anyone else has seen this issue.    Thanks,
    • Been using SS 0w-20 from new, but wanted to change to the 5w-20 because I liked the data on the data sheet, to me it seems like a little better product. But as you can see, not much difference. This is also with running a mix of 10 gallons E85 to a tank topped with 93. It isn't a flex fuel vehicle so any higher I get a CEL for running lean on both banks. Yes my mileage takes a hit. Instead of 20 mpg I normally get on trips I get 17mpg. This is also using EaO17 filter.  What is amazing is I have the AMSOIL cone filter on it since I have the GM Performance intake installed and that air filter has 44k miles on it.  I just take it out and shop vac it off once a year.  I use the upholstery tool on my shop vac.  Works well.
