Well here's my spin on the rough country 2" leveling kit. I didn't like the fact that it was plastic and still wanted about an inch of rake. So I copied the plastic junk and made a 1.5" one out of aluminum, anodized and installed. Turned out great.

Is anyone else experiencing this rubbing? Not many seem to admit they are rubbing. I've had the same thing on my past vehicles but I went with a different set up this time so I wasn't sure how common it was?

I rub there ever so slightly when the wheel is cranked all of the way. I'm running Nitto 295-55-20 trail grapplers on stock wheels with a 2.5" rc leveling kit.

That looks great. Are those really 17" wheels? They look bigger.

Yes they are on the 17x9 factory rims. Looked good to me so I didn't change rim size when I swapped tires out.

I just bought a Chevy High Country and I'm looking into having a level kit installed and possibly some beefier tires. Does anyone have any idea of what that might do to the fuel economy?

Just a 1-2.5" level wont effect you as much as "beefier" tires will. If you go with a mud tire (MT) expect to lose about 2-4 MPG if you go with an all terrain (AT) you might not lose any but it depends on the weight and width of the tire. if you stick with a 275 you wont lose as much as if you went with a 295-305.

I know this isnt a tire thread but I recently came across Hankook DynaPro ATM tires. They have a rather aggressive/beefy tread design, only weigh about 40lbs (275) and come with a 50k mile warranty. I am more than likely going to go with these when I upgrade my wheels.

I have a 2014 Sierra Z71, 5.3 motor with 3.42 rear end. I run Mickey Thompson Baja STZ LT 285/70R17 (which are heavy tires) with 2"/2.25" Skyjacker level kit. I average around town 18mpg, about 21/22 on the road. The best I ever got was 25mpg but that was on the Natchez Trace (250 miles) which the speed limit is 50mph (strict Federal Highway). I also have a heavy foot in town.
