On my stock 20's my tire guy says I can only run 285's with a 2.25 level.

struggling with size of tire.I am looking to fit 325 65 r18 on my 4x4 with a 2.5 lift leveling kit. The tire size is listed as a 325/65R18 = 34.6X12.8R18. seems like it is not going to happen as far as sizes go. I know they will most likely rub but how bad and where? does anyone have any ideas or if anyone is running a lift and is/are still rubbing? please let me know asap im getting new tires this coming weekend and I want to go big just in case I add the body lift kit as well. Just hard to find good tires that I want in size18. thanks in advance cheers.

 

Wishfull thinking I know but I am asking for thoughts and constructive ideas, not negative nancy "thats dumb" ideas lol.

 

I was debating those tires too with a 2.25 level and a 1.5 body lift. Talking to some people with the combo lifts, I still think some rubbing will occur.

I just ordered the Pro Comp 2.25" leveling kit from 4wheelparts today. The sales guys said that this would make the truck sit level. But I'm reading conflicting info that the front is now going to be 0.5" higher?

 

Anyone with first hand experience with this leveling kit that can help? I've got a couple weeks until my appointment if I need to make some changes.

 

I'm running a 2014 Silverado LTZ Crew Cab 4x4 w/ max towing package. All help is much appreciated. Thank you.

I just ordered the Pro Comp 2.25" leveling kit from 4wheelparts today. The sales guys said that this would make the truck sit level. But I'm reading conflicting info that the front is now going to be 0.5" higher?

 

Anyone with first hand experience with this leveling kit that can help? I've got a couple weeks until my appointment if I need to make some changes.

You will sit very close to level with 2.25" in front. It will not make your front end .5" higher than the rear. Edited by 14x4

I see that a lot of people have removed the air dam on their truck. I like mine on but I've managed to ding it up a bit going off road so I was just wondering if anyone is around the Houston area that has removed theirs and wants to sell it to me. I'm willing to go out as far as the Austin/San Antonio area or even up to Dallas/Fort Worth area. Maybe even Louisiana but I don't have family or camp out there so I don't want to hold my breath for that one. Message me if you do!

275 60 20 Nitto Terra Grapplers. 2.5" Rough Country level kit and 1.5 Zone Body lift. Clears by a mile. Going to trim my air deflector. Don't want to remove it because I did and just didn't like the look. I think it is because of the curved bumper bottom that is throwing me off.

 

Photo shop (on my phone, lol) of what it would look like trimmed about 1.5 inches.

You'll need probably a 4" suspension lift to run that tire. Don't even try it with a level kit.

yeah i thought so thanks for the input. I think I will end up getting a 33 12.50 tire instead. seems like a few people are running them with minor rubbing only under full lock and a load. thanks again sorry took me so long to reply account would not let me log in for some reason.

2.25 pro comp leveling kit and pro comp pro runner shocks with 295-65-20

do you get alot of rubbing with this setup? did you trim like crazy? the numbers say 295/65R20 = 35.1X11.61R20 do the shocks lift it as well? this may have been covered but i didnt see it....

When I bought my truck they had installed my RC 2.5 and put Toyo AT's 275 /65/20 (wrong ones though) and I never noticed any rubbing. But, I didn't like how narrow they are. Then went to 305/55/20 Nitro Trail Grabbler, and those sucked something terrible! Took the back, and had them install 285/65/20 BFG which I'm not a fan of but better than the Nittos. They barley rub on hard turns. I know have decided to take a step back and go with a new aftermarket 18" wheel and Toyo MT 295/70/18.

 

I hope they don't rub.

i need to know if 305 55 20s will fit on stock allterrain rims with a 2in level on front .will i have rubbing issues thanks

I've read this entire thread and saw the question was asked but never answered; anyone know if 295/70/18 will fit with a rc 2" level and stock wheels? Thanks in advance.

Planning on buying the RC 2" front levelling kit for my Silverado LTZ, but it asks for aluminum or steel, which should be chosen for my truck?

    • I have a `25, 1500 that auto sets on incline. Never knew that at first. I have the electronic shifter. Just think if it didn`t do that? Unlike a mechanical shift that you can muscle out of park, how would you get this thing out? That would be a problem.   What I found out later is, I don`t have to push the button to release. Just put it in gear.   Setting parameters? Don`t know if it`s possible.

I usually set the parking brake (habit) when on flat ground for typical driving.    When backed down on the launch ramp to launch the boat and I place gear selector into Park, the parking brake activates automatically. My second nature is to set parking brake manually and noticed I was turing the parking brake off.  The parking brake appears to be setting itself automatically.   I looked all over my owner's manual and only found references to being on an incline and manually setting parking brake, or at times parking brake will be auto engaged, but nothing specific to my situation.    When is the parking brake automatically engaged?  Under what specific circumstances?  Can the auto set parameters be changed?     I like the auto set feature.  It would be nice if always engaged when shifted into Park and released when shifted out of Park (like my wifes 2025 RAV4).   Thanks!

Based on the 2000 samples in the SPEEDiagnostix database, increasing the oil viscosity in these engines, even those run on the track, showed no significant difference in results.   The smoking gun was in the oil chemistry. That is where the data shows higher instances of more wear. Molybdenum was the key; the higher the amount, the less the wear. Speed postulates that higher viscosity oils have more thickeners to artificially inflate their viscosity numbers. These thickeners lose viscosity under shear, and the result is that not all oils of the same viscosity have the same shear stability.   Having enough viscosity is the most important characteristic, but according to Speed, once that required viscosity level is reached, additive chemistry matters more than additional viscosity. Speed also states, oil pressure problems on the racetrack aren’t a viscosity problem; it’s an oiling system problem. Running a thicker oil is just a band-aid for an underlying oiling system problem.
    • Can it still be Assembled II?   Viscosity on the decline by various means. Heat on the rise making that worse. Engine RPM in the tank. Smaller motors with more boost trying to emulate an electric motor. Full torque, zero rpm. Then we will triple the OCI. Argh.    But wait....there is more. LSPI has pushed a shift from Ca to Mg and as that cost more PLUS the run to lower sulfur compounds the TBN is moving in the wrong direction for the increased OCI's demanded.    That not being enough to placate a demand for a parameter they can't measure the other sulfur bearing compounds are also under attack. That would be zinc and phosphorus sulfonate compounds. To some degree those are being replaced with boron esters and others, i.e. titanium ect. All of which have shorter service lives. And there there is the "Secrete Sauce" marketing for AW adds that 'Can't be detected by UOA's" but trust me because I (the blenders) never ever lie.    Spoiler alert; ALL additives are sacrificial! Smaller amounts of the old blended with less robust versions of the new do not equal longer service lives. So what are the blenders recommending? Wait for it.......   MOVING THE GOAL POSTS! OMG      Let's declare the long standing TAN/TBN crossover irrelevant and tell people that soot is a great 'graphite' based lubricant which can aid tribo films. Wait, what? Let's declare that the standards used for oxidation and nitration were to conservative and can be expanded. Let's tell them that because GDI fuel dilution, although being a VISCOSITY KILLER and an acid generator is actually okay because we have better base oils that limit viscosity failure limits. (Said knowing this is measured in fractions of a centipoise and in bases not commonly used in shelf oils)   Lying from the heart is not just the new normal but we have a public, a very young public, that is so ignorant of the facts and so sure of their "RESEARCH" into AI driven models base in regurgitated  instead of scientific research based unvarnished, peer reviewed FACTS that the incoming guard is loosing their grip on reality and the OEM's are tickled pink while the blends bend the knee.    You have an ever limited set of tools to work with. And sooner or later those will be taken from you as the API and the EPA strangle the last remaining fluids from the system. What you have left is your wits. If you care to use them.    At some point in the very near future it will not longer be possible to do "What is best for the machine", and be replaced with "The best you have access too". You WILL be rewarded with half the life and twice the cost. That isn't that hard to predict.         
    • I trust you saw the other comment where he knew what he was talking about !. Yes, these darned newer vehicles with all their so smart they are stupid technology, goes and drains the battery down. As you might see my other comment, I installed a Noco 5 battery tender under the hood and at this point still have the cord routed so I have to lift the hood and then plug it in but am typically parked in a garage or a shed so its not risking the engine hood in the wind. That way I am assured or hopefully so of not finding I have a battery drawn down and can't even start the truck and that also damages the battery to draw it down too far.
