UPDATED fuel injector numbers

Cylinder 1 (12.0) Cylinder 2 (15.9)

Cylinder 3 (12.1) Cylinder 4 (15.9)

Cylinder 5 (11.9) Cylinder 6 (16.1)

Cylinder 7 (11.8) Cylinder 8 (15.8)

It seems a little strange that a whole side would be bad. Is that out of the norm or when they go they go? I also don't know if anyone has replaced them in the past.

Ok so I finally have this all sorted out. I bought a used engine and installed it this past weekend, I started her up and my issue is gone.

Now for future reference others may take the shorter less expensive route. I replaced almost every sensor on this truck here is the list. I replaced the camshaft sensor, crankshaft sensor, engine coolant temp sensor, mass air flow sensor, oxygen sensors upstream and downstream, injectors, like I said darn near every sensor.

After spending about $1000 on sensors I decided to take it to a different dealership. Again they were of no help said they dont know whats going on. In the long run I should have just pulled the motor and replaced it with a used unit, oh well live and learn.

I am going to eat the $50 core and tear down the "bad" motor and see what the issue(s) might be. I will update when I find out.

Hopefully by the end of the week I will be buying a new truck so this headache will be gone.

Yeah I plan on doing the same someday when mine goes bad. Problem solved and then tear into the old one.

Ok Here is an update, I pulled the engine threw in a used one with 110k and no issues to date. No cats used the anti-fouler method and like I said no issues.

 

I tore down the old engine to find nothing wrong, WTF! everything was within spec. The cam had all the lobes the rockers looked fine no cracks or broken pieces and the valve springs all in tact lifters looked good and the rollers were all in good shape. My only thought was a collapsed lifter possibly, I have no idea what the deal with this engine is/was. Either way it is all tore down and I'm going to build it up after a bore and hone. It won't be going in the Silverado probably in my Camaro or going to do an S10 build. It just pisses me off I couldn't figure out what was wrong with this motor.
