I added mine before our trip to North Carolina and I collected this much so far (1080 mixed highway/city). I also added some stainless media to catch a little more.5e48194216a627bd3fdf0ceb516cb19a.jpg

Got a trip to FL coming up - I'll see how much I end up with after that. Should be close to 2k miles round trip.

This is a long thread so I don't know if this was mentioned before but I took the connector ends out of the old PCV line and inserted them into the new line. Looks like an OEM installation and seemed to take some of the hiss out of the system for some reason I can't explain.

Ordered an Elite Engineering CC and clean-air separator today... plan to install this weekend with my first oil change (got 5100 miles now). We'll see how it goes.

That's the oil I run. I ran mine HARD towing at least 15 or so loads over 6k lbs. combined trailer weight for 14 months and 9700+ miles. Last oil analysis showed I need to change it a bit sooner next time. I wasn't surprised. If that was conventional oil, I'd have had to dump it at 1,500 I bet.

Was thinking about the Wix too... how do ya like em? I've been using Mobil 1 and K&N for years.

I've been using K&N filters, since I bought a huge lot of them when I first took the truck home. I don't think they're anywhere as good as Wix or Amsoil EA - that could account for some of my high levels of iron and aluminum too. With K&N your basically paying for a heavy case, and a 1" hex for easy removal. Not sure how good the media is on those. Haven't looked into it .

I wouldn't go for more than a year if my only driving was to church on Sunday. You'll get moisture in there, especially given that you're in MA with winter and all. I suppose you're keeping an eye on it with OA, but without that I just wouldn't go for more than a year.

That's the reason I changed it and sent it in. Came back with negligible moisture content. Wasn't the length of time, but the high levels of wear materials from heavy towing that require more frequent oil changes.

Some of my OPE will go 2 years or more on Amsoil Formula 4-stroke. My ATV has gone 3-4 years. There is a moisture concern, but if you use the equipment, it boils off. The one year thing pushed by oil salesman is to sell more oil. I base that on my own experiences.

My Catch Can makes a audible hiss that sounds like it is coming from the intake. I drained it for the 3rd time today and got another half ounce. I am amazed at the oil I am catching with the Elite Engineering set up. These engines slobber worse than a 2 stroke LOL

Thanks to this thread and having prior info, I purchased an Elite can and installed on my Silverado with less than 50 miles. I am truly amazed how much I have collected in less than 2000 miles. Really makes me cringe when I see so many Chevy/GMC's driving around and probably less than 1% of people have one.
