Just added the Elite Engineering clean side separator to complement my catch can. The Airaid MIT uses 5/8" hoses and barbs so I bought a 5/8" heater bypass cap to block off one port on the

MIT tube. I also bought a brass barbed 3/8" to 5/8" fitting to adapt the separator's 3/8" inlet hose to the left over 5/8" Airaid hose. I ran the supplied 1/2" hose which connects each valve cover underneath my engine cover.

Your engine looks very nice. Is this the 5.3 or the 6.w? What have you all done to it? Headers? What is that plastic top cover from?

MJ,

Where did you get the 5.3L sticker on the front of the Caddy engine cover? Or is it molded into the cover?

That engine looks real nice. Good job!

Thanks

3,800 miles on the truck and the catch can was installed as soon as the truck got home from the dealership. The liquid is dark like oil, but it's very thin like water. No milky substance form oil/water mix at all. Not sure what exactly it's made of, but I'm glad it's not going through my intake

You'll start seeing more water in there as winter gets closer. Once the temps get below 40°F, you'll see more and more water.

Depending on where you live, you might not see much, but up here in MA, it'll be almost all water by January - or ice, I should say.

I just got my elite catch can this week, installed it yesterday morning. I used tape on my threads.

This is what I had in it this morning after about 80 miles (mostly shorter trips to town, temps between 30-50 outside)

I think I'm gonna need a bigger can for the winter....

Looks like oil to me. Vapors condensed in the can.

You'll be alright, so long as you keep up with it. My glass catch can holds maybe 4 oz. tops, and it gets to about halfway with mostly water (in cold weather - below 40°F) after a couple weeks of local driving.

It should have an o-ring around the top.
