Help me decide - Black or Stainless Nerf Bar Steps?

I'm getting some 5in nerf bars ... can't decide if I should get black or stainless. I have the GMC All terrain and it has some chrome on the side... but no chrome bumpers. See my truck below... based on the color, etc... do you think I should get black or stainless ?

with color matched bumpers I think go black.

I say Black also... Will look good with your wheels...

Save up for Amps. Then you won't have to worry. But if not I would probably go stainless.

IDK.... you have chrome mirrors, door handles and side trim. Stainless might look good too. The wont scratch like painted black ones. Tough call. I bet both would look good.

Yes... it's a tough call... I would think stainless since I have the chrome mirrors, door handles, and chrome strip along the side... plus diamond plate (chrome looking) tool box. But yet have color coded bumpers / grill... makes me think black ....lol

 

Keep opinions coming.. and yes.. amp would be nice. But I'm just scared of the install and someone tearing up my truck..

Transported a 2008 Dmax out of northern IA. a couple weeks back. Have no idea the care it had as it was a dealer trade & 115,000 miles on it. But the black steps were rusted through at each end. Would go with a satin to bright stainless with solid steel end caps(not plastic or open)if it were me.

Thanks for the feedback. It's seems half for Black and half for Stainless/Chrome now...

 

As for rust - not an issue here in the south...and my truck stays in a garage anyway. I really just want to know what finish would technically match better?

 

KMGZ - I was thinking the same thing with the chrome tool box...door handles, mirrors, etc..... maybe stainless...

 

But I also have the black fender flares at the bottom.. maybe better for black bars... lol...

Normally, I would have said black.....but with all of your other chrome (or stainless) accessories, I think stainless nerf bars would look the best. And, it's not that black would look bad, I just think stainless would look better considering the circumstances. Just my two cents.

Chrome / Stainless being installed this afternoon. Will post pic later..
