2014 Problems Really Bad?

Hey guys,

Long time lurker here...looking to buy a 2014 Sierra Denali in the next 4 weeks, but after reading numerous threads on this forum - there are a TON of people reporting problems with their trucks.

My opinion is that if you're paying $50,000+ for a pick up, you shouldn't have these problems, and my question is that do you think the Denali's will run into the same issues or do they have higher quality production standards for the Denali models?

their is no telling, i got stuck with a truck that is shaking at highway speeds and is very annoying and they have not been able to do anything bout it. all i can say is make sure you test drive it over 70 mph and if you feel any shaking or vibration at all look for another one quick don't let them talk you into that one trust me. good luck and hope if you do buy one you get a good one. reminder test drive test drive test drive.

DAMN THOSE LOOK SWEET !! DID THEY COME ORIGINAL WITH UR TRUK??? MINE HAS THE OFFROAD PACKAGE SO IT CAME WITH SOME 18s WITH ALLTERAIN TIRES. LOOKS GOOD BUT THERE JUST SILVER, AND ON A BLACK TRUCK IT DULLS THE LOOK.....THE OFFROAD PACKAGE CAME WITH RANCHO SUSPENSION, CHROME Z71 BADGE, UNDERBODY SHEILD AND HICAPACITY AIRFILTER.

GM offers at least 8 different 22' wheels on the gmc catalogue. (various versions in silver, chrome, black and dual colour)

Those look like the SEY rpo code. (chrome)

my 2014 GMC Sierra has really poor FM radio reception and they gave me another 2014 to try and it was just as bad!! I have driven an hour drive, each way, to my dealer 4 times for this!!!

Getting really fed up here in Ohio

after 4 months of dealing with a great service writer at my dealership, he gets transferred. The new guy knows nothing of what I went through or was promised. So he promises to talk to the service mgr and

that he will get back to me before the end of the day and that he talked to him and they were going to solve this FM problem in house without waiting on GM. Well 2 1/2 weeks later lol I am still waiting on that call. Four trips to dealer almost an hour away and many hours waiting on them to find out that they know not what to do. I contacted the GM rep and was told she would get back to me right away...that was many weeks ago. This is not an isolated problem and GM is not a small company, so why are they ignoring their customers for so long and causing us to think about different vehicles. With todays technology I know they have employees that can resolve this. I have two other recalls on my truck but nothing still about fixing this radio

I will say there will be no difference in quality with the Denali. Everything that matters is below the surface and is going to be the same no matter what trim level you go with. Mine died after 180 miles and the dealer has offered to buy it back if I want. I told them to fix it for now, but the offer stands if I have more issues. The problem is, there is nothing else out there I want. And in the few days I drove this truck, I loved it. So do I just have them get me a new one? Do I get a Ford (which I don't want)? I don't want more problems, but maybe the one I got was just a lemon.

I own/drive a '14 K1500 6.2L CC Denali and have had very few problems with it. The problems I have had were a seat heater malfunction and condensation forming in one of the headlamp housings to which my servicing GMC dealer corrected both as warranty items.

That said, I for one think there is a lot of "bitching and moaning" found here in the GM-Trucks.com forum that is not always reasonably founded and certainly not a true representation of the wider audience of owners or the trucks. This is further supported by the table below (GM1) which indicates 14% of GM truck owners participate in this forum and most certainly not all of them complain. Furthermore, the 117k is the number of total GM-Trucks.com members which includes other models than the C/K 1500 series pickup trucks.

This is a great forum and platform for the sharing of GM trucks product ownership and knowledge but needs discipline to avoid being overly laden with product bashing.

2014 Chevy trucks are great trucks.

People with no problems don't complain.

That's why you see all the bitching.

...and don't forget the fanboy trolls who own something else and come here just to slam GM products.

Love mine.....I came from an 07 Avalanche that I bought brand new and it had a ton of growing pains, it was a first model year as well. Chevrolet was great.....had to shop for some service guys that knew what they were doing but once all the gremlins worked it she was still going strong at 172,000. I was holding my breath going to another year one vehicle but so far so good.
